Have been using Endpoint Central for 2 years and no plans to change!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Everthing is pretty straightforward. While it does not come without it's flaws, support is generally quick to respond! Being able to get support through a quick chat is fantastic. I will admit, I have not been able to dive into all the extensive features of Enpoint Central, but we are planning to implement more of then as part of this years initiatives.

I use Endpoint Central daily, it is what we use at my company for all of our endpoint management.
What do you dislike about the product?
On more complex issues, it can take a little while to get solutions. There are some regular occuring issues that are more annoying than they are detrimental. I have only had one major issue that created a pretty big headache. I was cleaning out the Scope of Management and had selected a few computers to delete. It ended up removing every last machine from the SoM. I was told, this was because I had multiple tabs open on my web broswer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to track inventory and keep machines up to date. Even when the automatic patches won't apply on their own, it helps give a visual representation of what machines need help. It also helps us push software to machines when we need to do company wide installs.

Manage Engine is an excellent tool

  • December 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ManageEngine provides a lot of options for us. We can remote in to a users system to assit with Tech support. We can get a lot of information about their system. We can patch their system though ManageEngine to keep things secure. Manage engine will warn us if any systems could be a security issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not really anything I dislike about Endpoint central. Its easy to use; it offers a better remote support tool than what we previously used. It was eays to impement into our environment.

Sometimes certain tools don't work as they should, but this is mainly becuase of changes we have made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Endpoint central keeps us secure and helps us know whats on our network.

Comprehensive RMM with a learning curve.

  • December 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
ManageEngine Endpoint Central so far seems to be a comprehensive solution to what we need from an RMM tool.
The threat and patch management provides exactly what we need, as security is an increasingly significant aspect of our work.
The portal provides clear and consise, making it easy to identify and review systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
In our implementation our team was given administration of ManageEngine Endpoint Central after a prior staff member set it up. Learning the product, how it works and to use it as designed was a challenge for staff.
Other RMM providers have online resources, such as an Acadamy, with training materials easilly available.
I'm unsure if ManageEngine have a similar resource to learn the best practices and ways of using Endpoint Central.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A significant requirement of our cybersecurity is the identification of vulnerbilities, and timely patching of software and systems.
Endpoint Central provides a comprehensive view of vulnerbilities and patching.

What do you like best about the product?
Endpoint Central is flexible, easy to use and deploy. The patch management is really usefull, the OS deployment is quick and flexible.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are no possibility to deploy packages from the software deployment section after deploying OS. You have to prepare your own packages again....
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a perfect overview of the apps installed on my company laptops, and I can apply patchs, updates and new apps in few clics to all my computers at the same time.

I've used a Manage Engine product since I started IT...

  • December 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best part about Manage Engine, in general, is there committment to transparent, up-front pricing structure, which allows customers to understand and anticipate costs effectively. However, this advantage marks the limit of its standout features.
What do you dislike about the product?
ManageEngine Endpoint Central, while aiming to be a versatile tool, unfortunately presents a uncohesive, visually overwhelming, and unresponsive user experience. Its ambition to wear many hats results in a lack of mastery in any specific area, suggesting a need for a more focused and streamlined approach. The software would benefit from a redesign that emphasizes core functionalities, followed by strategic, thoughtful additions.

Adding to these concerns are issues with outdated public repository scripts, exposed security credentials in easily accessible logs, and the risky feature of sending custom scripts directly to ManageEngine with just one click. These security oversights could warrant renaming the product "Vulnerability Engine."

The customer support experience compounds these problems. Support teams often promise extensive help, giving customers the impression that their issues will be addressed. However, this usually ends up being a tactic to delay and pacify, leading to prolonged, unresolved customer issues.

Furthermore, the software's API access is predominantly restricted to read-only activities. Gaining more comprehensive access requires persistent requests from users, often met with initial denial by support staff. This secretive approach to feature accessibility, like the existence of undisclosed endpoints, raises concerns about the software's transparency and ease of use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ManageEngine Endpoint Central does offer the functionality to install applications remotely, which, I guess, is its main benefit for us. This feature somewhat streamlines the software deployment process, allowing our IT team to manage installations across different systems without being physically present at each machine. While it's not a groundbreaking improvement, it does save a bit of time and effort, particularly in scenarios where remote work or management is involved. So, in a basic sense, it's useful for maintaining a certain level of operational efficiency.
