Powerful Financial Visibility, Steep Learning Curve
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the level of financial visibility and control Sage Intacct provides. The reporting and dashboards are powerful and flexible, allowing real-time insight into job costs and overall financial health. The reporting and dashboards are valuable because they turn financial data into something usable on a day-to-day basis. I can see real-time job cost, budget versus actuals, and profitability by project, phase, or entity without waiting for month-end or building manual spreadsheets. Also, I appreciate that setting it up was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the usability and learning curve of Sage Intacct to be the biggest challenge. Some workflows aren't very intuitive, requiring significant training for new users to feel comfortable. Creating custom reports can be frustrating; even small changes like adding a new dimension or adjusting filters can break the report, and it's not clear where the mistake happened, making it more time consuming than expected. I wish there were more canned reports available or tutorials for building custom reports for new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct solves financial complexity, enhancing visibility in construction accounting. It helps manage multiple entities, automates accounting processes, and reduces manual work. The powerful reporting and dashboards provide real-time insights into job costs and financial health, improving decision-making.
User-Friendly Accounting with Improvement Potential
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease and user-friendliness of Sage Intacct.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it frustrating that Sage Intacct doesn't allow me to prepare draft journal entries. Blackbaud has this feature, and it would really help me see how entries impact accounts before posting them, ensuring accuracy and minimizing errors. Also, during the initial setup, we had to use a third party, and I feel Sage could have handled it directly at a small cost.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Sage Intacct for maintaining accounts; it helps eliminate wrong entries and the need to edit or delete entries due to its user-friendliness.
Clean, Live Grant Tracking with Great Visibility
What do you like best about the product?
I like the project/grant-level tracking. I can track all grants live with clean visibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Payroll allocations aren't intuitive. It is very hard to split employees who are across multiple grants without the same percentage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct has allowed our team to work remotely while maintaining strong controls. Because everything can be uploaded and stored within the system, staff no longer need to be in the office daily to process or support transactions.
Feature-Rich Accounting with Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
I like Sage Intacct's easy-to-use user interface, where the menus are user-friendly and logical. There's lots of support available, and I find the Intacct support community to be a good resource. Our support tickets are answered quickly, which is really helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Drill-down clicking on amounts could be better. Some items can't be drilled down, and sometimes the detail provided is not sufficient.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct allows us to record, consolidate, and report financial information effectively. It offers more functionality for reporting compared to Quickbooks.
Great Multi-Entity Journals, but a Disjointed Implementation Process and Support
What do you like best about the product?
The multi entity feature. It is nice only having to do one single journal entry instead of multiple to balance transactions across our 18 entities. It also helps streamline a lot of the other accounts payable and receivable processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
The implementation process. They were partnering with NPact at the time of our implementation. We had 4 different representatives throughout the process. I do believe they are using a different company now... Npact did not listen to what we needed. When we met with the new rep and had to explain our business processes again, we were told what our previous rep advised us on wasn't possible and had no effort made to rectify the situation. They did not show us fully how to use the features needed that were included in our package to be trained on and also marked off that they imported our customer records on the implementation checklist but did not do it until we requested multiple times. We were also handed off to Sage support without signing off that implementation was complete and only found out after emailing our representative about issues and being told they could not help us and we needed to contact support.
We also have not had a good track record with Intacct customer support. They push you to look in the community or help articles that do not give entirely accurate steps to resolve the issue.

Intacct solved our multi entity reporting.
Intuitive, Paperless Accounting That Streamlines Monthly Close and Audits
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to maneuver through the application. The product is intuitive and simple for managers and leaders to drill into the application to find their own answers. The application has allowed us to be almost entirely paperless and simplifies closing the books on a monthly basis. In addition by granting our auditors read only access to the application our audit has become more efficient and less burdensome for staff as auditors can drill and pull supporting documents themselves cutting down on requests for additional supporting documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
Custom report writing is a bit cumbersome and takes some learning especially when it comes to understanding reporting groups. When adding new accounts the user needs to be aware that the new account may not be properly mapped to one of the groups and could therefore put reports out of balance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows front line staff to enter purchasing requests that are approved by management cutting down on mistakes and automating the workflow for purchasing. Sage also allows for importing of transactions and transaction activity from the CMS and POS systems which allows for daily and monthly revenue balancing with our core systems thereby cutting down on data entry labor and data entry errors. The internal communication system allows for audit trails and notes to be attached to transactions creating a single source for information related to the financial statements. The collaboration feature keeps things contained in the system and the cloud based solution allows executive management to stay connected when off property.
Flexible Dimensions with Strong Grants, Projects, and Billing Modules
What do you like best about the product?
I like the flexibility of the dimensions and that there is a module for managing Grants and Projects will a Billing capability. Also, I love the Platforms Services module, which allows you to create custom objects and menus for your business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the offerings when it come to merging duplicate vendors and the inability to generate a 1099 file uploading to the IRS.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems we’ve been able to solve include tracking grants and contracts, as well as creating the customized invoicing required by our funders.
Sage is Continuously Evolving to Save Us Time and Fit Our Unique Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Sage is constantly working to improve their product. We are impressed that the software continues to evolve to save us time and meet our unique needs. It integrates well with other systems that we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our organization has found approval workflow options to be a bit limiting for the way that we structure budget ownership. The system is not as intuitive for our employee users as we would like.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sage Intacct is streamlining many aspects of our Finances, including budgeting, reporting, payments, and approvals. Our team now spends less time trying to find data and more time analyzing it.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how things are labeled and clearly marked, I know exactly where to go to finish a task.

I feel like I often have to do more steps than what is needed to get the desired result.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is more modern than the last system I was using, I used to have to do a lot of journal entries to get the correct information and now things are more straight forward.
