What do you like best about the product?
It best suited for enterprise businesses which require a low cost, low maintenance solution for improved transnational DB queries to fulfill the business requirement on a frequent basis
What do you dislike about the product?
Require improvement in data manipulation and query processing. Could use a simple user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using DB2 for cognos report back end. For the people who are unfamiliar with SQL it can be a little difficult to learn.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it if you require a product with low cost and maintenance. If not, go for SQL.

Extremely easy to setup, manage migration and focused

Db2 has very few region options and this impacts your performance and compliance requirements

Easy of database administration and strong / robust fail over requirement.

Robust database as service that was be extended through the cloud
Depending on the version, it can be your best friend or worst enemy
What do you like best about the product?
DB2 is all about performance and control. We run it on an iSeries AS/400, version 5 revision 4. You get a lot of tools and a lot of in-depth access if you want it, as well as very good performance compared to most engines out there, mainly because, at least on the AS/400, the DB is part of the OS instead of being a ran program. Oh yeah, and the maintenance is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
FETCH FIRST 1 ROWS ONLY - instead of LIMIT. 0/1 instead of TRUE/FALSE (again, I am speaking from a v5r4 view). Weird act-ups sometimes, like a SUM containing a division of DECIMAL will return an integer in a SELECT and a DECIMAL in an UPDATE. The constant need for CAST. A DECIMAL(4,2) multiplied by a DECIMAL(4,2) has to be CAST down to a DECIMAL(4,2) manually, each time. Else, overflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing stocks, users, clients, basically everything a medium-sized business needs.

What do you like best about the product?
I like DB2 as compared to IMS DB or VSAM because of ease of work. It's easy to write scripts, handle it in COBOL program. DB2LINK is also cool feature to interact with multiple functionalities or programs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to dislike but performance could be better in complex join situations.

This software comes with a high availability option, where you can help a database and you can scale and search for any type of information securely from the cloud, additionally you have the ability to separate the data from the cpu and the cloud, in which you can pay only the time or space you use, helps you take care of data encryption

These types of software are very necessary already in the day to day of any company, since now everything is based on the speed of technology to drown man hours and give faster response, for me there is nothing negative in it, even improves the security of your database
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i'm going to perform the test to create a database and a backup where you can check the speed of work within the cloud, the security of the information there backed up, and how this can help the company, is a very interesting tool

perform the test, so that they are convinced that it can be a great tool for your recommended company.

Limited lag time while running multiple processes.

Difficult to work on mac computers, I felt that it was difficult to handle working on cloud anaylsis while the proactive nature of the merger was evident.

I love the agility and speed at which I can work on, Scale CPU up or down and pay for what you use on a daily basis.

It gives a disadvantage of learning too many things and functions
