Great experience, very interesting contents
What do you like best about the product?
Contents are very interesting and the interface is user-friendly
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of categories by job, some labs would be more interesting for receptionists or sales people than for engineer
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To get to know better all the essentials of the cyber world
The best way to learn a technology is to go fully hands on approach and Immersive Labs is the best!!
What do you like best about the product?
The upsides of using Immersive Labs is the gamification of education. Every new technology is present in the lab environment and rewarding points for solving each small task help us to learn the environment better and with the point system, it pushes us to a friendly competition with the team members of our organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing I dislike is the text-based multiple-choice question where the background is the same and this part feels a bit lacking in its immersiveness. I would like to suggest them to tweak that section a bit like the labs part and make it more interesting rather than plain old boring MCQ.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being an intern at an organization, I have no clue about the technologies used in the working environment. Immersive labs with its interactive labs makes the task of learning new technologies very interesting compared to reading the documentation or seeing a bunch of videos about that technology. I feel that I have learned a lot about Splunk through the labs than the videos on youtube.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be patient and slowly you'll get a grasp of the interface of Immersive Labs and you'll surely enjoy it.
Immersive experience with Immersive Labs
What do you like best about the product?
On demand labs with both linux and windows ecosystems. Each practice lab has a broad theoretical explanation about the presented topic. Gamification is GREAT!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some lab instructions are not clear. Info pane cannot be opened in new web browser tab and it takes too much space covering OS in the background.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Started using IML as an Engineer, now I am in Architect role. Gained a lot of knowledge at IML.
Great Learning Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Real world labs that teach you hands on skills that get you the skills you need to do your job proficiently. Also, that all of the labs are through the browser, so they require no additional setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
I disliked how some labs were sort of unclear. Especially the starter labs that was supposed to get you familiar with the interface and just had you click different buttons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have realized that hands on labs is the best way to learn. You can answer questions to a test or quiz as much as you want, but to do your job day to day you need experience with the technology you will be working with.
Good catalogue of content
What do you like best about the product?
The breadth of content is good for both the blue team and the read team. The tools covered are also frequently used by cybersecurity professionals. The lab environment provided is good enough. The timely updates for CVE's are good to have as well
What do you dislike about the product?
The content could be more detailed for some topics rather than just an overview plus link to external resources for some labs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Covering gaps in my knowledge and exploring new tools which can be incorporated within our program.
Self-contained labs on a variety of subjects.
What do you like best about the product?
Organisation/team leaderboard, ability to set own objectives, wide range of topics, no external costs/subscriptions needed, interesting roleplay scenarios.
What do you dislike about the product?
Answer fields can be finnicky and I'd like a bit more optional guidance on the more niche labs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Malware analysis, pentesting, coding, OSINT. More confident with a wider range of security tooling.
Insightful and hands-on experience
What do you like best about the product?
Insightful reads about security topics and getting to work on the hands-on lab for those topics, like the path and achievement modules to track progress. Leaderboard gives a competitive feel to the entire application.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because security topics are growing - immersive labs can choose to mark labs that should be re-done in light of recent issues. It should also allow us to read the description of the lab even after completion - so that we can continue to read external resources.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can train our new hires on security topics very quickly, which helps us avoid common security flaws in our application development cycle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
ImmersiveLabs is a great start to provide security training to your employees.
Insane learning experience
What do you like best about the product?
Useful for beginners, advanced and pro's. Labs about new CVE are coming out rapidly quick. Quick Linux VM, not so fast for Windows but also acceptable, not needed to download any additional software to use platform
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes you need to put / instead of \ and fighting with correct answer for hours :)
And yes, it is manager assigned labs, so not all the time you enjoying to complete your favourite topic

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps in daily routine, all the information is up to date. So far no major problems
One of a kind
What do you like best about the product?
Love the way it gameifys cyber security. There's something for everyone, from not so technical to really in-depth labs
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes found myself stuck on labs and unable to progress, would be nice got a 'hint' button.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to just jump into a lap on your lunch break and learn something new
Great training platform covering a wide variety of topics
What do you like best about the product?
There is a wide variety of training for cyber security professionals of all levels.
The ability to choose different security areas is also helpful in deciding what labs to work through.
The IL team do occasional webinars to discuss major security events that are interesting to listen into.
Manager assigned labs are also beneficial, allowing a tailored training plan for each user - for example, able to tailor training for an L1 and an L3 analyst separately.
The rapid response to current threats makes me feel that the team at IL have their ears close to the ground and are passionate about the service they offer.
Support team have been extremely helpful - I've run into a few problems (login issues, as well as an odd bug with points/scoring) and have had my issues resolved within hours of first contact.
Lab difficulty is varied, so there's always something to dig your teeth into whether you've only got half an hour or a whole night to play.
And lastly... the labs are just super fun!

Two issues I can think of off the top of my head:
1) I believe this is planned already, but the lack of a hint system can be a little infuriating. Perhaps a method of offering a hint but ensuring that the concept is taken onboard (i.e. asking for a hint would open up an extra question just to make sure the user isn't relying too heavily on the hint to answer the question)
2) Some topic areas are difficult for those without any prior knowledge of the topic - for example, the Infrastructure Pentester course requires a Java RMI experience which itself isn't an issue but also requires knowledge of Python. Not a huge issue, but (unless i'm being blind) there are no Python labs to bring would-be pentesters up to speed on this lab.

I'm currently widening my knowledge of tooling, and broadening my understanding of red team/offensive security. As someone who is working in a purely defensive role, it is advantageous to think of how an attacker might think and to get ahead of their thought process before they can cause any damage.
This has helped make me a better analyst overall, and has rekindled my interest in learning about security!

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth contacting the team to see if there are any free trials (I believe they offer a trial version that contains a handful of labs). IL is definitely a tool that can strengthen the knowledge of Cyber Security Professionals.
