What do you like best about the product?
The interface of the platform is visually simple, but hides a great variety in the individual menu items. You have clear structures and a good overview of all services and devices that you manage. A hugh number of auto apps for your organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
In case of missing functions you can or have to deal with the built-in distribution of scripts to be able to map the needed function.
We currently use this very rarely, because in the last weeks many new features have been firmly integrated into Kandji (thats what i like).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Centralized management of devices is greatly facilitated by the benefits of Kandji. In combination with Apple Business Manager, all newly purchased devices automatically end up in my system. All that remains is to add the user and the appropriate blueprint and the device can be handed over to the user.

Before Kandji, every new employee had to set up their laptop on their own, which often took a lot of time, especially on the first day.
Thus, due to the affiliation to a certain department, all necessary software is installed automatically.

Kandji Review

What do you like best about the product?
Simple device management platform that is easy to use, administrate and deploy. Has been great for us to help secure and manage our macOS enviroment. Seems to be quite rapid moving and new features are always coming along.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still lacking some more enterprise features / subsets e.g. SIEM intergration, however there is a feature request system so hopefully things like this get added in the future.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing our devices to be complaint with CIS benchmarks, keeping a inventory of our corporate devices, patch management, removal of administrative rights, encrpytion, and software deployment.

What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly cant really fault Kandji after a year but if anything does come up I know I could contact our account manager and they will fix the issue if we were to have one.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security management for all of our devices incase anyone loses, has their device stolen and general lifecycle of employees when we have new starters and people leaving the business.

Reasonable MDM for small organization or company

  • February 27, 2023

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji is a good basic mobile device management system for a small information technology team and for small companies who do not have a lot of time to be trained to manage Jamf.

For the product, management, and budget, it makes sense to go with Kandji. It's easy to set up and relatively easy to maintain. This only works if you're using Apple devices and are a Mac shop.

It is also easy to set up and integrate with Apple Business Manager, which makes for an easy automated enrollment of new users as long as the product is purchased through the organization's Apple representatives. It is also easy to integrate usernames through Google with the Kandji product

They also have decent documentation on their product

Custom scripts can be added.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the downsides include the lack of capability with the spreadsheet columns and what items can be downloaded for information.

There is also an app store integration capability that I do not recommend, since any change to blueprints or migration from MDMs will cause all those apps to be removed from the device.

At the time I used the product, purchasing licenses could only be done in the 100s; but I think they've changed this now.

There is some manual things that need to be done, such as adding serial numbers and assigned users, but I don't have any suggestions on how to make this better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to enforce device encryption, passwords, and update certain applications or operating systems that need to be updated. It was helpful for keeping track of assets and inventory or locking down computers.

Makes MacOS and iOS management simple

What do you like best about the product?
As a former JAMF user, Kanji brings similar management capabilities for Apple products without the complexity. I found the auto-apps and prebuilt configuration templates a huge time saver. Furthermore, chat-based support is fantastic, with quick response and spot-on advice.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a fairly new product, Kandji is still working on building and refining some functionalities. The biggest challenge is using and keeping track of "Blueprints", which contain all the apps and settings for a particular group of systems. When testing changes, one would need to copy an existing blueprint and make updates, rather than apply certain settings/apps to a smaller test group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a small group of Apple users, and Kandji makes it easier to manage and secure these systems without needing dedicated specialized staff. The Passport add-on brings Windows (Azure) SSO to Macs as well, so no more dealing with multiple out-of-sync credentials.

Our favorite Apple MDM

What do you like best about the product?
Kandji has catapulted us from the sneaker administration and "everyone-can-do-everything" era into the present. The implementation process was successfully completed within minutes, and we were able to roll out the first devices. The management interface, the support, and the constantly provided new features make us happy every day.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, there is nothing we can complain about. These are all small details and complaining at a high level, such as the fact that there is currently no direct support in our time zone and we therefore have to wait a bit for responses from the other time zone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Through Kandji, we have a central place for profile management, our own app store that users find great, and a fast and easy deployment process. All these tasks we had to do manually before.

Kandji's in Town!

What do you like best about the product?
I support a school with nearly 500 devices, of which Kandji manages 300. After testing a couple of MDM solutions, I stumbled upon Kandji and have yet to look back. The setup process was straightforward. Using blueprints, library items, and integration with Google Workspace and Apple School Manager only improved this experience. Maintaining baselines of OS and application versions is seamless. If security compliance is what you're looking for, Kandji has templates that comply with industry standards. The technical support team at Kandji has been nothing short of amazing, and the same goes for our customer success manager. We onboarded in the spring of 2022 and are renewing for 2023 as a testament to how superior this product is.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the few complaints is that I'd like my end users to visually see where in the update or upgrade process they're in. I understand this is likely due to an Apple limitation. Most of the time, my users get frustrated and believe nothing is happening, interrupting the process. This goes for application updates as well. I'd like to see better ways to manage alerts and failed policies in the admin console. At the moment, I can only flush policies individually.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can maintain security, OS, and application compliance.

Excellent MDM solution

What do you like best about the product?
I am the IT support manager for 140 + devices managed by two people. My experiences on Kandji only go back seven months. My experience has been positive. Coming from JAMF, it is ideal for a smaller work environment. Easy to deploy & create blueprints. Management of users & integration to our Google Workspace.
The blueprints are easier to create and manage. There are varieties of custom configurations to match our work environment. If such configurations are not suited, it is more accessible to modify & edit without disrupting the entire MDM solution,
Distributing the apps from Appstore or a variety of developers has been more accessible even with different file formats.
The best part about Kandji is its support team. If I am wondering how to enable standard users to get the ability to change screen-sharing settings, their chat feature is precious. Intiallially it was challenging being in the APAC region as their support hours were based in the U.S times. I am happy to see they have opened up an office in Sydney & expanded their support hours to align with our business hours.
The product is adding value slowly. Integration to endpoint security and complaint to SOC2 are valuable features. Product feature request is greatly appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Major OS interactions from Apple have been challenging. When the update starts, there needs to be an indication of when the process will be complete. From a user's point of view, such updates significantly disrupt workflow. It could be 55 min or more. Sometimes it's to download the update. It takes another 20 min to get the update installed on the computer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We recently tested the Ventura upgrade on a few of our testing units. I have upgraded a batch of 18 MacBooksAir & Pros with Apple silicon. The Upgrade has been smooth, contrary to what I was expecting in time commitments. Support hours in change. I used to not be able to reach out to support on Mondays as it's Sundays in the U.S. They have made changes.

Best Apple MDM in the market

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use, support and integration into your processes is so simple and intuitive that it makes the entire experience enjoyable (even for tasks that are usually not the most exciting with other tools). Having used Kandji for over a year now at our company, we're delighted to continue the partnership for years to come.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much that I can point out that Kandji cannot do or that I dislike. They're constantly adding more options and taking feedback so despite lacking some configurations every now and then, the team is receptive to feedback and ready to jump in to help with any suggestions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to automate the ability to manage our devices across the org as much as possible. Kandji makes it super simple and provides an enjoyable experience while doing so.

Amazing product and support from the Kandji Team! We are excited to grow with them!

What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE the end-user experience we are providing through Kandji! The automated device enrollment process allows us to be completely hands-off, and our end-users can be up and running in record time! The application library that Kandji offers is also a huge plus; many of the enterprise applications we use today are directly managed through Kandji, which saves us from having to self-manage application updates. Their Support team is very responsive and informative as well whenever we run into any issues or have any questions.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints currently with Kandji, more so just suggestions that are particular to the UI layout on some pages within the console where I feel it could use more information. This has already been sent through as a feedback/feature request.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We need to move fast while being as hands-off as possible when deploying Mac endpoints to our users. Kandji helps us accomplish this seamlessly, which allows us to pull focus on developing the products & services we push further.
