Cargotec Shares Its Vision for the Future of Shipping

Finland-based Cargotec provides equipment and solutions for the cargo-handling industry and employs 11,000 people in more than 100 countries. Its products deal with one quarter of the world’s 700 million annual container movements and can be found on half of all ships listed with the International Maritime Organization. Today, the company’s focus lies in bringing data-driven solutions to market that help cargo carriers increase efficiency, transparency, and cooperation. The aim is to reduce the €17 billion a year loss that the industry suffers globally due to inefficiency, as well as the 90 million equivalent metric tons of CO2 wasted in moving empty containers.
