SK Planet, a subsidiary of South Korea’s SK Telecom, provides e-commerce, messaging, and location-based services for consumers. To help expand its global reach, SK Planet turned to AWS services to provide for data centers for new geographic markets, creating them in one or two days instead of the two or three months it took with its prior IT architecture. The move to AWS also helped the company cut data-center-related expenses by as much as 50 percent.
