These two new Quick Starts automatically deploy two popular software development tools from Atlassian, Bitbucket Data Center and JIRA Software Data Center, on the AWS Cloud. The Quick Starts were created by AWS solutions architects in partnership with Atlassian, to integrate solutions and services from both companies.
Atlassian provides enterprise-wide collaboration and project management tools for software development teams:
- Bitbucket Data Center is a Git repository management solution that provides source code collaboration with high availability, flexibility, and performance at scale.
- JIRA Software Data Center automates project planning, tracking, and management tasks in a highly collaborative, agile team environment.
Each Quick Start builds the AWS infrastructure and deploys the Atlassian solution on AWS in approximately 30 minutes. The AWS environment consists of an Amazon Virtual Private Cloud (Amazon VPC) that spans two Availability Zones and includes public and private subnets with secure Internet access. The Quick Starts deploy Bitbucket Data Center or JIRA Software Data Center product instances with an Auto Scaling group to ensure application availability, Amazon Relational Database System (Amazon RDS) PostgreSQL for database support, and a shared file system. The Bitbucket Data Center deployment also includes the Amazon Elasticsearch Service (Amazon ES) for indexing and searching.
The deployment and configuration tasks are automated by AWS CloudFormation templates that you can customize during launch, and you can add nodes to the Bitbucket or JIRA clusters after deployment.
Quick Starts are automated reference deployments for key workloads on the AWS Cloud. Each Quick Start launches, configures, and runs the AWS compute, network, storage, and other services required to deploy a specific workload on AWS, using AWS best practices for security and availability. This is the latest in a series of Quick Starts built by AWS in collaboration with AWS partners to automate the deployment of popular products and technologies on AWS.
