Amazon EC2 announces Host Recovery

Posted on: Jun 5, 2019

Host Recovery for Amazon EC2 automatically restarts your instances on a new host in the event of an unexpected hardware failure on a Dedicated Host. Host Recovery reduces the need for manual intervention, minimizing time for recovery and lowering operational burden for instances running on Dedicated Hosts. Additionally, built-in integration with AWS License Manager automates the tracking and management of your licenses in the event of recovery.

There are no additional EC2 charges for using Host Recovery. Standard Dedicated Host charges apply. See Dedicated Host Pricing page for more information. Host Recovery is now generally available in the following AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), EU (London), South America (São Paulo), China (Beijing) and China (Ningxia) regions.
