AWS Serverless Application Repository allows sharing public applications from all commercial AWS regions

Posted on: Apr 3, 2020

Authors who publish serverless applications to the AWS Serverless Application Repository (SAR) can now make their applications publicly available from all commercial AWS regions (except China) where the service is available.

Previously, application authors could publish public applications only from one of the master regions, us-east-1 or us-east-2. If they had a different default or preferred region, they had to either keep their application private, or switch to a master region to publish it. With this launch, they have the convenience to publish public apps from their preferred AWS region, without having to switch regions.

This ability is now available to all AWS customers by default. To learn more about the AWS Serverless Application Repository, visit our product page. To see all regions where the service is available, see the AWS region table.
