AWS AppConfig announces the launch of hosted configurations

Posted on: Jun 16, 2020

AWS announces the launch of AWS AppConfig hosted configurations, a new feature that simplifies on-boarding to AWS AppConfig to enable customers to deploy configurations in seconds. AWS AppConfig makes it easy for AWS customers to quickly roll out application configurations across applications hosted on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances, containers, AWS Lambda, mobile apps, IoT devices, and on-premises servers in a validated, controlled and monitored way.

AppConfig hosted configurations enable AWS customers to smoothly onboard to AWS AppConfig. This new feature enables customers to create their application configurations through an in-line editor, within the AWS AppConfig console to provide a centralized location to store and manage configurations. This feature also simplifies the configuration of IAM policies to store and retrieve configuration data in AppConfig. Customers can also choose to store configurations in any format of their choice. AppConfig hosted configurations are encrypted at-rest and in-transit, ensuring customer data remains secure. Additionally, this feature provides customers with the ability to store revisions of their configurations allowing customers to rollback to previous versions when needed.

This feature is available at no extra charge. Customers only pay for the resources they use. This feature is available in US East (Ohio), US East (N. Virginia), US West (N. California), US West (Oregon),Asia Pacific (Hong Kong) Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Canada (Central), EU (Frankfurt), EU (Ireland), EU(Milan), EU (London), EU (Paris), EU (Stockholm), Middle East (Bahrain), South Africa (Cape Town) and South America (São Paulo).
