AWS DataSync can now transfer billions of files or objects between Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), Amazon Elastic File System (EFS), or Amazon FSx for Windows File Server, with just a few clicks in the DataSync console. This enables you to easily replicate data between your managed file systems for business continuity, as well as copy portions of your data to different buckets or file systems as needed by evolving application requirements.

Using the AWS DataSync console, AWS Command Line Interface (CLI), or AWS Software Development Kit (SDK), you can now configure data transfer tasks between AWS Storage services without deploying or managing in-cloud infrastructure. For example, you can use this new capability to regularly replicate your Amazon FSx for Windows File Server file systems to a different AWS Region, or move files between your managed file systems and S3 buckets for data processing. DataSync comes with automatic encryption of data in-transit, and built-in options such as data integrity verification in-transit and at-rest. It enables you to easily schedule periodic data transfer tasks, and allows granular visibility into the transfer process through Amazon CloudWatch metrics, logs, and events.

You can use this new feature to transfer data between 16 Commercial AWS Regions: US East (Northern Virginia and Ohio), US West (Northern California and Oregon), Canada (Central), South America (São Paulo), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Paris, and Stockholm), and Asia Pacific (Mumbai, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, and Tokyo), or between AWS GovCloud (US-East and US-West) Regions. You can learn more in the DataSync documentation, or log in to the AWS DataSync console to get started.
