Amazon Textract is a managed service that leverages computer vision and machine learning to automatically extract printed and handwritten text, tables and forms data from scanned documents with no machine learning experience necessary. Today, we are excited to announce that effective September 1, 2021, customers will see a price reduction of up to 32% and save even more on the use of AnalyzeDocument and DetectDocumentText requests in eight global AWS Regions.

Beginning September 1, 2021, the usage of the AnalyzeDocument and DetectDocumentText APIs in eight AWS Regions will be billed at the same rates as our prices in the US East (N. Virginia) Region. These Regions are: Asia Pacific (Mumbai), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (London), and Europe (Paris). Specifically, customers using the DetectDocumentText API in these eight AWS Regions will be billed at $0.0015 per page for the first 1 million monthly pages and $0.0006 per page for over 1 million monthly pages. Similarly, customers using the AnalyzeDocument API for forms will be billed at $0.05 per page for the first 1 million monthly pages and $0.04 per page for over 1 million monthly pages while the use of the AnalyzeDocument API for tables will be billed at $0.015 per page for the first 1 million monthly pages and $0.01 per page for over 1 million monthly pages. In effect, customers using Textract in these Regions will see a 9%-32% price reduction on both the synchronous and asynchronous operation of these APIs.

The new pricing will be applied to your bill automatically starting September 1, 2021. This pricing change does not apply to the Europe (Ireland), US-based commercial Regions, and US GovCloud Regions. There is also no change to the pricing for the recently launched AnalyzeExpense API with specialized support for invoices and receipts processing.
