Change Calendar, a capability of AWS Systems Manager, now supports importing of third-party calendars, such as Microsoft Outlook calendars, thereby enabling you to view all your events centrally and control what changes can be made to your AWS resources during those events.
Using Change Calendar, you can schedule calendar events to control the changes made to your AWS resources during events, such as public marketing promotions, when you expect high demand on your resources. This new features now allows you to easily see your external events in a change calendar and control disruptive changes being made during the blocked periods on your calendar. Additionally, any calendar import through Change Calendar retains the recurring events ensuring users do not lose important recurrring events during the import. This feature release supports importing from Google Calendars, Microsoft Outlook Calendars and Apple iCloud Calendars in .ics format.
To get started, choose Change Calendar in the Systems Manager console on the left navigation menu to import an external calendar while setting up a new change calendar or editing an existing one. This feature is available in all AWS Regions where AWS Systems Manager is available, excluding AWS China (Beijing and Ningxia) Regions. For more details about this feature, see our documentation.
