Amazon Connect Chat now allows your agents and customers to use rich text formatting when composing a message, enabling them to quickly add emphasis and structure to messages, improving comprehension. The available formatting options include bold, italics, hyperlinks, bulleted lists, and numbered lists.

This feature is supported out-of-the box without the need for manual configuration for both the Amazon Connect agent UI (contact control panel) as well as newly created customer chat widgets. To enable this functionality on your existing customer chat widget, you can simply update the chat widget code.
