We are announcing the preview of AWS Data Exchange for AWS Lake Formation, a new feature that enables data subscribers to find and subscribe to third-party data sets that are managed directly through AWS Lake Formation. This feature is intended for data subscribers who want to easily integrate third-party data directly into their data lake as well as data providers who want to use AWS Lake Formation and AWS Data Exchange to help streamline their data licensing operations.
Once data subscribers are entitled to an AWS Data Exchange for AWS Lake Formation data set, they can quickly query, transform, and share access to the data within their AWS account using AWS Lake Formation or across their AWS Organization using AWS License Manager. Because the data appears within the Lake Formation catalog, subscribers can handle the discovery, access, and usage of third-party data in the same way they handle first-party data. By using AWS Data Exchange for AWS Lake Formation, data engineering teams can spend less time building and managing data pipelines, allowing them to get data to end users faster, helping to speed up time to insight for all data-dependent teams.
AWS Data Exchange for AWS Lake Formation is available in the following AWS Regions: US East (N. Virginia), US East (Ohio), US West (Northern California), US West (Oregon), Asia Pacific (Seoul), Asia Pacific (Singapore), Asia Pacific (Sydney), Asia Pacific (Tokyo), Europe (Frankfurt), Europe (Ireland), and Europe (London).
