AWS Backup now supports schedule-based network bandwidth throttling for VMware. This allows you to optimize network bandwidth used for backups and restores between your VMware environment and AWS. You can throttle the network bandwidth used by the Backup gateway for VMware backups, based on a schedule you set on the Backup gateway. This enables you to regulate network bandwidth use during peak hours to minimize network congestion and prevent you from using all your available bandwidth during peak hours.
AWS Backup support for scheduled-based network bandwidth throttling for VMware provides you a simple way of optimizing network bandwidth use for your VMware backups. AWS Backup provides a consistent data protection experience from on premises to Cloud, helping you meet your business and regulatory compliance needs. You can use a single policy in AWS Backup to simplify data protection and automate lifecycle management of your on-premises VMware, VMware Cloud on AWS, and VMware Cloud on AWS Outposts environments alongside the supported AWS storage, compute, and database services.
