Today, we are announcing the availability of VMware Cloud on AWS in AWS Europe (Zurich) region and AWS Asia Pacific (Melbourne) region. The addition of these 2 regions expands the availability of VMware Cloud on AWS to a total of 25 regions globally, enabling customers to have a faster and more efficient way to migrate to the cloud.
VMware Cloud on AWS is a jointly engineered solution that combines compute, network, and storage capabilities---maintained, supported, and operated by both VMware and AWS. Customers can leverage the same familiar VMware tools, skill sets, and governance across their on-premises and cloud environments, while taking advantage of the scalability and cost-effectiveness of the AWS cloud. AWS is VMware’s preferred public cloud partner for all vSphere-based workloads. Customers can also deploy the entire VMware stack, including ESXi, vCenter, NSX and vSAN, along with additional storage options while getting access to over 200 native AWS services. This new availability in Australia and Switzerland allows customers to leverage the scale and sustainability of all AWS data centers.
