Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS) for PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MariaDB now supports AWS Graviton2-based T4g database instances in Africa (Cape Town), Asia Pacific (Jakarta, Melbourne, Osaka), Europe (Zurich), and Middle East (Bahrain) Regions. T4g database instances provide a baseline level of CPU performance, with the ability to burst CPU usage for as long as required. Depending on the database engine, version, and workload, T4g database instances provide up to 36% better price performance over comparable x86-based T3 database instances.
With this regional expansion, T4g database instance is now available for Amazon RDS in 28 regions: US East (N. Virginia, Ohio), US West (Oregon, N. California), Canada (Central), Europe (Frankfurt, Ireland, London, Milan, Paris, Spain, Stockholm, Zurich), South America (São Paulo), Asia Pacific (Hyderabad, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Melbourne, Mumbai, Osaka, Seoul, Singapore, Sydney, Tokyo), the Middle East (Bahrain, UAE), Africa (Cape Town), and AWS GovCloud (US) regions. T4g database instances are available on Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL version 15.2 and higher, 14.3 and higher, 13.7 and higher, and 12.11 and higher. T4g database instances are available on Amazon RDS for MySQL version 8.0.33 and higher, and Amazon RDS for MariaDB version 10.6.14 and higher, 10.5.21 and higher, and 10.4.30 and higher.
