Today, AWS launches video source replacement for AWS Elemental MediaConvert, allowing you to frame-accurately replace sections of source video with alternative content versions.

You can use video source replacement in MediaConvert to replace one or more sections of video without modifying the underlying audio essence or the duration of the output. If you need to create alternative versions of content by splicing in replacement scenes you can now do so directly in the MediaConvert job configuration. Multiple overlay sources can be specified in a job, and the content will be conformed to the same color space, resolution, and frame rate as the output video. This feature offers an alternative workflow to the use of Composition Playlists (CPL) in IMF packages for scene replacement, a feature that is also supported in MediaConvert.

Video source replacement is available in all regions where MediaConvert is available. Visit the AWS region table for a full list of AWS Regions supported by MediaConvert.
