Today, AWS announced the launch of a new feature of Amazon VPC IP Address Manager (IPAM) that automates VPC subnet IP address management workflows. Now you can simplify IP address management for AWS workloads further by automating workflows for both, VPCs and VPC subnets.

Using this feature, your can easily plan and organize the VPC IP address space for subnet IP address assignments, in alignment with your organization’s connectivity needs. You can also set simple business rules to govern those assignments. For example, you can divide your VPC’s IP address space as per different routing and security needs, like ‘Production’ and ‘Development’ spaces. Developers creating a VPC subnet for production workloads can get automatic IP assignments from the ‘Production’ address space, without waiting for the network administrator, thereby boosting developer productivity.

Amazon VPC IPAM is available in all AWS Regions, except China (Beijing, operated by Sinnet), and China (Ningxia, operated by NWCD).
