Our Saving Plans offer lower prices if you are ready to commit (measured in $/hour) for a one- or three-year period. AWS offers three types of Saving Plans for Compute EC2 Instances and Amazon SageMaker.

EBS Volume Modernization
An Amazon EBS volume is a durable, block-level storage device that you can attach to your EC2 instances. Migrating EBS volumes to the latest generation can provide significant savings: Modernizing from gp2 to gp3 reduce costs by up to 20%, allowing you to make quick savings across Amazon EBS.
ResourcesMigrating from gp2 to gp3 » Watch a video on EBS »Optimize S3S3 Intelligent Tiering is the only cloud storage that delivers automatic storage cost savings. It moves objects between three access tiers for a small monthly monitoring and automation fee and is ideal for data with unpredictable access patterns. The launch of the new Archive Instance Access Tier, delivers up to 68% lower cost without any impact on performance.

Databases
Elasticity allows you to optimize spend for RedShift and RDS, by ensuring you only pay for what you need.
Modernizing to Gravition2, will allow up to 52% of price/performance improvement for RDS open source databases. Pricing Models using Reserved Instances, can save up to 69% over on-demand prices depending on the payment option and the payment terms that you opt for.
Switching RedShift from DS2 and DC2 node types to RA3 types can lead to cost savings. RedShift Serverless allows customers to save costs by only paying for clusters that are in use. Reserved Nodes, that can be purchased in the RedShift console, allow for discounted per hour rates.

Amazon ElastiCache Reserved Nodes give you the option to make a low, one-time payment for each cache node you want to reserve and in turn receive a significant discount on the hourly charge for that Node.
ResourcesModernize ElastiCache » Learn about Reserved Nodes »OpenSearchWhile running an OpenSearch Service domain, you can choose from a variety of instances for your primary nodes and data nodes suitable for your workload.
Amazon OpenSearch Service now supports AWS Graviton2 instances which provide up to 44% price/performance improvement over previous generation instances.
Amazon OpenSearch Service (OpenSearch Service) Reserved Instances (RIs) offer significant discounts compared to standard On-Demand Instances (up to 50%).
