Andrew B. Williams, PhD, MBA, is dean of engineering at The Citadel School of Engineering and is an experienced practitioner in artificial intelligence (AI), human-robot interaction, and humanoid robotics.

He has successfully incorporated Amazon Web Services (AWS) AI, AWS Cloud, Alexa, and DeepRacer into curricular and co-curricular activities. Dr. Williams has led AI and robotics educational and research collaborative efforts in alliances between Research I, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), and Primarily Undergraduate Institutions (PUI). Dr. Williams has an AWS Cloud Practitioner certification.

His passion for diversity, equity, and inclusion in computer science and engineering was noticed by Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple, who hired him as Apple’s first senior engineering diversity manager.
