Overview
This is a repackaged open source software product wherein additional charges apply for technical support with a 24-hour response time.
Ruby 3 and RubyGems, built on a minimal CentOS Stream 9 installation, are included in this AMI, repackaged by Easycloud. It provides a highly optimized, dependency-free runtime environment, deliberately engineered to leverage the latest YJIT compiler and accelerate modern web development and infrastructure automation.
Core Features & Integrations
-
Native Extension Compilation Ready: We have pre-installed the full 'Development Tools' group (gcc, make) alongside critical development libraries (openssl-devel, zlib-devel). This specifically eliminates the notorious "failed to build gem native extension" errors typically encountered when installing heavy-duty gems like Nokogiri or Puma.
-
Modern Ruby & YJIT Toolchain: Pre-installed with Ruby 3 and RubyGems. The environment is optimized to fully utilize the cutting-edge YJIT (Yet Another Just-In-Time) compiler, delivering significant performance enhancements and reduced memory overhead for demanding production workloads.
-
CentOS Stream 9 Foundation: Provides a robust, enterprise-grade underlying OS with deep structural alignment to RHEL, ensuring high security and seamless ecosystem compatibility with AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, and traditional CentOS deployments.
Key Benefits
-
The Ultimate Ruby on Rails Node: By starting with a bloat-free, compilation-ready environment, you ensure maximum compute availability. This makes it the perfect, conflict-free base for deploying high-concurrency web frameworks (Ruby on Rails, Sinatra, Hanami), robust application servers (Puma, Unicorn), background job processors (Sidekiq), and connecting to enterprise data stores (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Redis).
-
DevOps & Automation Engine: Beyond web applications, Ruby remains a powerhouse for infrastructure as code. This clean environment serves as a highly reliable execution node for industry-standard automation, configuration management, and deployment tools (Chef, Puppet, Vagrant, Fastlane, Capistrano).
-
Polyglot Microservices Integration: While serving as an impenetrable stronghold for Ruby workloads, this execution node integrates flawlessly into diverse polyglot microservices architectures. It is designed to smoothly interoperate with external API services, message brokers, and container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) built across the world's most popular technology stacks, including Python, JavaScript (Node.js), Java (OpenJDK), Golang, Rust, C/C++, C#, PHP, and Swift.
-
Production Optimized & Expert Support: Secured with the latest OS patches. It delivers a highly stable, lightweight environment, fully supported by comprehensive documentation and fast technical assistance (guaranteed 24-hour response time) to ensure your enterprise infrastructure runs smoothly without costly downtime.
Highlights
- A bloat-free Ruby 3 environment on CentOS Stream 9. Optimized for fast boot times and a reduced security attack surface.
- Expert Support: Backed by comprehensive documentation and fast, professional technical assistance.
