An AMI is a virtual image that provides the information required to launch an instance. Amazon EC2 (Elastic Compute Cloud) instances are virtual servers on which you can run your applications and workloads, offering varying combinations of CPU, memory, storage, and networking resources. You can launch as many instances from as many different AMIs as you need.

Version release notes

Added: Added the imitate_uuid mask for masking of GUID/UUID values while preserving format and structure. Added auto_manage_indexes feature to automatically disable and re-enable non-unique indexes. Added Snowflake time travel detection that prevents masking when historical data retention is enabled. Allow creating admin users through the UI. Conditional execution for run_sql tasks using the db_type parameter. Added a new API /api/connections/{id}/test/ to allow testing an existing connection. Added support for auto_manage_triggers at the ruleset level. Added trim_leading_whitespace and trim_trailing_whitespace parameters to the mask_tabular_file task, with defaults of trim_leading_whitespace: false and trim_trailing_whitespace: true. This changes the default behavior for fixed width files where leading whitespace is now preserved by default. To revert to the previous behavior, set trim_leading_whitespace to true. Added a new on_sentinel_year parameter to the retain_age mask to configure behaviour when masking years 0001 or 9999.

Changed: Default whitespace trimming behavior for fixed width files (see new trim_leading_whitespace and trim_trailing_whitespace parameters in Added section). Removed 5GB limitation on S3 file uploads. Improve UX of ruleset editor on smaller screens. Ruleset API performance improvements.

Fixed: Session timeouts causing the UI to hang with a white screen. Fixed hash_columns at table level causing cascades in from_unique_imitate to fail when columns don't exist on child tables. Fixed foreign key constraint removal failures on PostgreSQL. Intermittent issue where clicking the Rerun Discovery button wouldn't trigger a new discovery run. Redshift data discovery no longer fails.

Usage instructions

Please follow the steps below to complete setting up your DataMasque instance:

Access the application via a web browser at https://<instance-ip-or-hostname>. The application may take a few minutes to start. Please refresh the page if you encounter the "Unexpected Error" message.
Complete the first-time installation page by providing the following information:

Email address of the DataMasque admin user. This email address is stored on the DataMasque EC2 instance and is used for the purposes of providing 'Forgotten Password' account recovery and critical system notifications. DataMasque will not have access to this information.
Password for the admin user.
Hostnames or IP addresses to access the DataMasque instance.
The SMTP settings specific to your organisation.
The instance ID of your EC2 instance.

You will be re-directed to the DataMasque login screen. Please proceed to login with the admin password you have just configured.
