Highly Dependable with Excellent Video Quality and Detailed Analytics
What do you like best about the product?
Highly dependable. Excellent Video quality. Versatility. Detailed analytics. Detailed billing. Straight forward user interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
Price tiering options. Limited support for lower tier. Documentation not consistent. Lack of user community. Limited notifications of changes that could impact reliability. Integration of new and legacy products not seamless. High data storage cost. Player limited. Play aesthetic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There's a large gap in available, "channel", persistent embed providers. Wowza allows us to provide a economical consistent online presence with a limited time investment in configuration. The high quality video reproduction and embed compatibility allows us to scale productions with confidence.
Efficient Streaming with Room for Support Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the documentation provided by Wowza Streaming as it's quite helpful. I find it valuable that we use RTSP, RTMP, and HLS streaming, which are the features I use the most for streaming video. While I wasn't involved in the initial setup, from what I've heard, it seems like it was a smooth process.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support could be improved. Sometimes when the developers can't replicate an issue, they close the ticket, which can be frustrating. They should work to understand our environment better to help solve the problems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming eliminates the need to manage and maintain code for our own streaming application.
Easy, High-Quality Streaming at a Competitive Price—Could Be Friendlier for New Users
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's relatively easy to use and allows us to reach a larger audience. It's easy to use wowza while also streaming to our youtube channel if necessary. It's competitive price wise and the streams always appear to be high quality. We have never had an issue getting support. AI tools are easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could be a little more user friendly to those without much experience in streaming services.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to reach a wide audience.
Flexible Streaming with Java Extensibility, Minor HLS and Licensing Hiccups
What do you like best about the product?
I like Wowza Streaming's flexibility due to its ability to extend features using Java add-ons, which allows us to tailor it to our specific needs. We can add features to enable additional data gathering and integrate with our other applications. The initial setup of Wowza Streaming was very easy for us because we utilize the Docker containers and the available readme's.
What do you dislike about the product?
Low latency HLS has issues starting in a timely repeatable fashion. The licensing has had issues in the past recognizing the USB key or phoning home.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Wowza Streaming to restream live video content and set up a common location on the network for clients to consume streams.

Independence for Live and On-Demand Streaming—No Need to Rely on Google
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature is independence. To not have to rely on for instance Google to stream live or on demand video.
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s really nothing to dislike in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again. Wowza helped us with independence in streaming. Many of our clients has valued that feature highly, and that has helped us.
Powerful Restreaming Across Environments, but Stability Can Be Hit-or-Miss
What do you like best about the product?
Wowza enables our team to restream cameras across different organizations and environments. It’s helped us build out our video ecosystem and makes it easier to share streams where we need them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes Wowza can be unstable, and we end up spending time troubleshooting it—especially when Wowza is using the call home key.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes streaming and sharing easy across different environments and organizations.
Reliable Streaming with Global Reach and Redundancy
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to have publishing points in different data centers for redundancy. It gives us peace of mind that if one data center is having technical issues, we can quickly switch to a different one. I also enjoy creating cloud recordings of all live streams, as it provides a backup to local recordings. Wowza Streaming gives us a reliable CDN to reach an unlimited global audience, and it provides a great service for the price. The initial setup had no issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only negative is having to start the live instance every time. Sometimes it takes a few attempts. Eliminating the need to manually start the instance and have the live encoder do it would be better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming provides a reliable CDN to reach a global audience, offers redundancy with publishing points across data centers, and allows cloud recordings for backup.
Smooth Multiple Stream Integration, But HLS Needs Improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Wowza Streaming can handle multiple streams at once with transcoded versions, ensuring nobody misses a broadcast even if their data or internet is poor. I also appreciate the easy integration of multiple streams to the same server, which allows our producer to take over a stream if a client fails to connect without disruption. The initial setup was extremely easy, taking just minutes given our internal product setup.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main portion that doesn’t work well is the HLS. Our team hasn’t ever been able to figure out how to enable low latency HLS even with LLHLS being enabled.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wowza Streaming allows us to easily integrate multiple streams with different device sizes, supports multiple transcoded versions for poor connections, and lets producers manage streams seamlessly without disruption.
Reliable Streaming with Excellent Support
What do you like best about the product?
I use Wowza Streaming for our pet boarding cameras, allowing pet owners to check on their pets while they're away. The video quality is pretty good, which is important for a clear view during live streams that are available during specific hours. Also, Wowza support has been really helpful whenever we've had issues, which makes dealing with any problems much easier.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the back end is a bit hard to navigate at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Wowza Streaming for livestreaming pet boarding cameras, allowing owners to watch their pets while on vacation. The video quality is pretty good, and their support is super helpful when we reach out.
