Not reliable, but great set of features
What do you like best about the product?
CloudBerry Backup promises that it can back up to many different forms of storage - hard drives, cloud storage, FTP storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found CloudBerry Backup to simply not work. It crashes frequently, or pauses. It takes up ridiculous system resources and doesn't do what it was intended to do. On top of this, the licence is yearly for maintenance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We intended to use CloudBerry Backup to make system images of our file server, and backups of the files themselves. The benefits of being able to back up to removable storage and cloud services would have been to ensure we always had backups of our data, but it didn't work out that way.
Excellent Object Oriented Backup
What do you like best about the product?
There is no competitor to offer the vast landscape of supported cloud offerings as Cloudberry. The best part is the software just works. I have not seen even the smallest of quirky behavior. A real wiinner!
What do you dislike about the product?
A little more guidance on the expected behavior of some controls (ie retention) would be nice. Interface could use a modernization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automated backup to Wasabi.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Buy the product for the vast cloud support and use it because its reliable.
Exactly what I'm looking for
What do you like best about the product?
The low price at the end - TCO / quality and performance
What do you dislike about the product?
I beleive user interface could be improved
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
PC backup for my clients
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I certainly recommande CloudBerry in my case for PC backup to NAS and in the cloud
CloudBerry Backup
What do you like best about the product?
I am a small business owner and wanted a backup client which does not require IT skills. Setting CloudBerry to backup from my local computer as well as a NAS device took only minutes and has been flawless so far.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have yet to find anything I actually dislike about CloudBerry.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
CloudBerry is allowing me to make a cost effective central backup from multiple locations on my network in a manner which is automated and does not require my involvement other than to set and forget.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
So far it is a straight forward simple client for backing up to the cloud.
Excellent full backup solution. Small hiccup getting started, but support resolved it quickly.
What do you like best about the product?
Hybrid local/cloud backups, choice of cloud service, set it and forget it, bandwidth throttling schedules, great customer support. (even for trial)
What do you dislike about the product?
Initial configuration not completely intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Set it and forget it hybrid backups just work.
Great Price for a Great Product
What do you like best about the product?
The completeness of functionality, options of where to store your backup.
What do you dislike about the product?
It could explain the options a bit better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Backing up our Servers and key desktops to the cloud
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With great power comes great responsibility
CloudBerry Backup the best alternative for the backup of our data
What do you like best about the product?
After having tested a long list of applications for the backup of my data, I have come to the conclusion that CloudBerry Backup has been the best of all. since it is the perfect combination of an intuitive interface that makes it easy to use, speed, efficiency, unprecedented flexibility, backup of files, images and hybrids to even the server, with many storage destinations to which you can connect, including popular services such as Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Backblaze and OneDrive, among other features. It is important to note that it is not the typical backup solution in the cloud, but a backup control center that works with cloud storage providers, which makes it really fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Until now I do not find any negative characteristics of which I should complain about this great software, since being a professional in the area, I had no inconvenience when installing it, configuring it and making my respective backup copies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
since we started to implement CloudBerry Backup in our work routine we are much more relaxed as we know that if at some point you get to present a failure, we can recover all our information without any inconvenience thanks to this great software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend downloading the free trial version before acquiring the license of CloudBerry Backup, because although it is true that it is an excellent software without doubts, it is better to verify if it adapts to the needs of the user who implemented it.
Unreliable and slow backup system
What do you like best about the product?
The best feature is the file versioning, which in theory should allow us to retrieve older versions of files, and files that have been deleted.
What do you dislike about the product?
CloudBerry Backup is so awfully slow. For example, this week I simply wanted to delete backup storage from a removable hard drive, and the task is still running days later. It was only less than 500 GB of data.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We installed CloudBerry Backup in the compliance department to make additional backups of files, and to have a 'time machine' style backup where we could retrieve older versions of files or files that had been deleted. However, we've found that it is so awfully slow, that CloudBerry Backup is virtually unusable.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend trying the free trial before using CloudBerry Backup, and checking if the performance works for you.
Frankly Terrible Backup System with Promising Feature Set
What do you like best about the product?
I like the promising feature set, with support for a wide variety of backup targets.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found that it is very resource-hungry, relies on Java, frequently breaks, and has a strict yet inaccurate licencing model that in our case limited to 1TB of backups, even if the backups had expired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have to keep backups of files, and automate it. CloudBerry Backup seemed promising, and also had file versioning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider FreeFileSync.
Cloudberry for WHS
What do you like best about the product?
I loved that they had a client that allowed me to back up my Windows Home Server into Azure using encrypted backups! Their UI is super simple, and when they don't have something in the UI there is always some documentation that better exaplains how it works.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing, it worked exactly as they said.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
While my Windows Home Server was redundant both in the local storage, as well as an external backup to another drive, but it was still onsite. By using Cloudberry it made it super simple to move to back up into the cloud in a safe "Trust no one (TNO)" kinda way.
