This approach enhances security because even if one factor is compromised, the other factor remains secure, since both factors being compromised simultaneously is not a typical occurrence. The main benefit is that security is enhanced through this multi-layered approach.

The most important feature is the security capability because it provides a substantial amount of security for admin-related activities. Fortinet FortiAuthenticator can be used from anywhere in the world, and the authenticator services function globally. This global accessibility is one of the critical advantages, particularly since admin features are critical and security is a real concern. With Fortinet FortiAuthenticator, secure usage of firewall services and related functions is achieved.
A complete log of all users who access the authenticator setup is maintained. Monthly logs are reviewed to check for any unnoticed activities. Each authenticated user's complete activity history is recorded. This logging capability allows for providing access to more admin users while ensuring security is not compromised and all users can be monitored.

The technical support team is proficient and has all necessary resources to support all types of requirements. The quality of technical support staff is high. Compared with other vendors, Fortinet FortiAuthenticator has a good technical support team.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
Many products are used in the industry, including SonicWall and Check Point. However, Fortinet FortiAuthenticator has a better setup for authenticating compared to these alternatives, making it the preferred choice.

We are currently using FortiAuthenticator for VPN access.

The Fortinet security area is authenticated; they use it to access that is the main purpose.
What needs improvement?
FortiAuthenticator should integrate with other applications. I currently use Google Authenticator and Office Authenticator, and it would be better if FortiAuthenticator could be added to other applications.

As a user, I have been working with FortiAuthenticator for about three years now.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
The solution is stable, and I would rate it ten out of ten.
How are customer service and support?
The response from Fortinet is very fast. We use them for integration with the Mitel solution, and they are supportive and helpful.

My colleague did the setup, and I didn't feel that he struggled much. It seemed straightforward and not too difficult.

The pricing is about three on a scale where ten is low. Pricing should be more flexible.

I recommend it to other users who are using FortiGate to go for Fortinet.

FortiAuthenticator is a great security tool
What do you like best about the product?
FortiAuthenicator allows my users to quickly self-authenticate using the mobile app when connecting to our internal Citrix infrastructure from external endpoints.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there's a lag after a user authenticates before they get a response in the app. But that's a pretty minor nag, and security is rarely convenient! So not a big deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
FortiAuthenticator helps prevent non-trusted parties from hacking into our internal resources using our external Citrix gateway. So mainly security peace-of-mind.

Now with all the remote work due to the pandemic with FortiAuthenticator, I'm been able to set a secure remote access and at the same time feel secure with all the workers accessing my network.
Excellent product, easy to setup and manage
What do you like best about the product?
Easily manageable and classified GUI. A lot of options under single pane of glass.
What do you dislike about the product?
Updates and bugs. There are so many updates from fortinet regarding this product. Sometimes it looks like it's not stable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are mainly using this to authenticate our users in our network. PKI infrastructure is being implemented by using FAC. Fortinet SSO stands out for this product.

Please give this product a try. The certificate management feature of this product really stands out. Easilly manageable. Simple to setup in Virtual environment. Ideal product for setting up 802.1x infrasturcture.
