DataDome Improved Uptime & Reduced Cloud Hosting Costs
What do you like best about the product?
The service does its job and does it well, ensuring only valid traffic gets through. Their UI is intuitive and easy to use for investigating incidents, as well as creating and managing custom rules. The support team is fantastic, always quick to respond and thorough in their investigations and responses.
What do you dislike about the product?
We host a platform that doesn't want to block every bot because they scrape and distribute our content, which in turn deliver traffic back to the sites we hose. For this reason, we have some custom rules in place to ease the blocking of bots, which we cannot manage or modify ourselves. We haven't needed to adjust these in well over a year, so it's not a significant issue at all, but just noting that access to them or at least better visibility into them would be nice to have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We send email campaigns to millions of users each week and contained within each email are anywhere between 3 and 50 links back to the content on the sites we host. In the past few years, many of our recipients began using automatic safe link checkers, such as Safe Links in O365 or Mimecast. These safe link checks multiplied traffic back to our sites by 3x-50x all at once, causing our sites to become slow or go down. After spending countless hours trying to mitigate the issue and countless dollars scaling up our servers to handle the load, we implemented DataDome and saw the positive impact immediately. Suddenly, many WAF rules were unncessary and we could reduce our costs by running fewer servers.
Best in class bot protection
What do you like best about the product?
DataDome is a “set it and forget it” solution; its simple integration, ease of use and detailed reporting means our team doesn’t have to worry about bot traffic anymore. We no longer have to invest a lot of time or energy into mitigating attacks because DataDome does the heavy lifting for us. Great product, great customer support - the team is always available to help, should we need them.
What do you dislike about the product?

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were facing different bot-driven attacks, like account takeover, credential stuffing and intensive scraping, and were concerned these could lead to users’ data being leaked. Luckily, with DataDome in place, this is no longer a concern. Our website -- and our users -- are safe in DataDome’s hands.
Accurate detection & five-star customer service
What do you like best about the product?
As a previous customer, we selected DataDome for its detection accuracy and engineering performance. We were also a big fan of DataDome’s focus on customer success, and its flexibility to accommodate our use case. Another plus is its ability to handle our massive traffic scale.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had no complaints about Datadome. It reached our expectations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Advertising is our primary source of revenue, and our customers’ ad budgets shouldn’t be spent on bots. DataDome helped us improve the accuracy of our traffic classification, improving advertisers’ trust in our billing processes.
An effective solution, with a truly customer success-oriented team
What do you like best about the product?
There is a lot to like about DataDome, but two things stand out: the solution is truly automated and requires little human intervention, which means our team can focus on other tasks, and DataDome’s devotion to customer success. From the start, we were well supported by the pre-sales team, who helped us fine-tune the configuration to understand our traffic, product views and endpoints. They were also very proactive, and provided us with an excellent data report to give us visibility on what was going on. The team was top-notch. The icing on the cake: implementing the solution was very straightforward and took less than half a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
No dislikes at this time (after almost 6 months).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before engaging DataDome, bots were extensively using our APIs and polluting our traffic data, which skewed our KPIs and performance metrics. Now, our team no longer needs to spend time estimating the proportion of bots. We can rely on our performance metrics, without having to do any work on them.

Implementing more flexible subscription plans, including the option for unused request quotas to carry over to subsequent periods, would be a valuable and more fear improvement.

Reliable protection that remove all axiety on being crawled or attacked. In addition the support and monthly review tends to always improve the detection and so the protection.

The feature I would love to see is having more history by default in the interface.

It redecue the traffic and so ressources useed on content but mainly stop crawlers that try to scrap our partners prices and offers
Simple implementation & full anti-bot protection that works
What do you like best about the product?
What is most important to us is that protection simply works! We have noticed a really huge improvement in the protection of our website. DataDome easily integrates with the system without the need for major changes in the architecture, which allows for simple, short implementation and gradual activation of protection. In addition, we are aware that traffic to our websites is not redirected or goes through a proxy, which could constitute an additional risk factor, and only the necessary signals are analyzed. Moreover, the precise identification, classification and referencing of bots is really good.
The support is very responsive, the contact and involvement of the team is also at a high level. Also the dashboard is very intuitive and easy to use.

What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike. So nothing to add at this point and nothing to report. The solution is working great for us.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We implemented DataDome over a year ago because we had huge problems with various types of threats related to bot attacks. The implementation was simple, understandable, with great flexibility, excellent support from the DataDome engineering team and suddenly the problems disappeared. We have been operating the DataDome system for over a year and have not had any problem that would impact the business.
Saved our site from aggressive scrapping
What do you like best about the product?
The system was very easy to implement in to our code allowing us to pivot and correct nightly attacks we were having. The attackes continue to try getting, DataDome is able to quickly ID the new attacks and stop them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Custome rules can be a bit clunky. There is also a need for some more reporting which would help show the systems to people less technical.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were being scrapped every night for 10-12 hours by bots to pull data from us. Since stopping the bots we are able to run less instances as well as make sure we don't reach limits with our vendors. This means lower bills and more uptime on the site.

DataDome is instrumental in solving two critical problems. Firstly, it effectively mitigates a wide range of attacks on various company websites, enhancing overall security. Secondly, it provides a sense of security for our customers during their online purchases, which is invaluable for building trust and ensuring a safe shopping experience.
