Sophos Firewall Corporate Experience
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos is a stable and powerful firewall, the best feature I liked is the heartbeat and synchronized security as the firewall communicates with in the network devices which has sohos endpoints and ensure an extra protection . Application controll is also a WOW factor which is a bonus with the synchronized securi feature. The feate is free enabled when you have both sophos endpoint and firewall.
What do you dislike about the product?
Everything is fine since te last 5+ years in using Sophos firewall. Synchronized security feature supports only Sophos endpoint whihc is a limitation but since sophos Endpoint is the best in industry im happy and continue using both firewall and endpoint of sophos.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security threats, predictions on user, apps behavior, security management, advanced network management, Zero threat protection, free SSL vpn are few of the features which helped us in solving many of our day today security challenges.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the sophos firewall because it is one of the leaders in IT security and work with alot of their products. I also really like that the client side software integrates with the firewall to provide unmatched security features

to someone with little knowledge on the device will find it hard to navigate and setup

they are making internet security more reliable and trustworthy

Sophos Central is slow in South Africa - which makes cloud services slow to access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security ring-fencing - preventing ransomware and network attacks. Reporting is a great management reporting tool.

Sophos Central integration makes remote management easy - you don't need to open ports on the WAN.
Sophos central lets you integrate the firewall with the Endpoint and other Sophos products - gives you a single pane of glass management + view of your environment.
The on-box reporting is very good - you don't have to pay extra for it.

Latest developments in SD-WAN and application steering are very promising - Sophos are continually releasing new features for their devices - at no extra cost

What do you dislike about the product?
The captive portal functionality isn't great. Compared with other dedicated captive portal functions, it's quite limited - which has forced me to look outside of the Sophos ecosystem for supporting products.

WAN Failover and application steering are very useful in improving application responsiveness and stability.
Blocking unsavoury + malicious content is critical these days.

What do you like best about the product?
The sophos firewall management/dashboard is user friendly. There are also customisable policies that can be implemented.

Support team is a bit slow to assist with tickets, which can be an issue if there is a threat involved. If more staff are hired , more tickets would be able to be attended to quicker

What do you like best about the product?
The product is excellent, and the team has produced all the technical documents which is required to validate product capabilities

Technical Support need to be improved and training need to be conduct timely to use the product features.

It provides perimeter security, application control, and other security features.

What do you like best about the product?
Competitive prices for all the required components in a UTM. Their after-sales support and services are just fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there is any. SOPHOS should conduct regular technical training for end customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
SOPHOS helped secure our office environment with better throughput, which was missing in our old firewalls.
Sophos XG - Flexible Firewall
What do you like best about the product?
If you use the AV, the integration is really nice. Centralized management is a plus. Red tunnels are easy to deploy and reliable. App blocking is a really nice feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hardware is pricey and do not like that RAID and Dual PSU is only offered on top tier models.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Application control - Being in the cruise industry with small expedition ships, bandwidth is limited and being able to filter out bandwidth sucking apps is extremely useful.
Great Firewall
What do you like best about the product?
Sophos Firewall keeps our IT systems safe and secure, and the web protection allows us to provide tailored filtering to our students and staff and most importantly make sure our students can use the internet in a safely in school.
What do you dislike about the product?
Little bit of a learning curve figuring out how to do things but works well once you are familiar. I've never quite been able to get the most out of the reports and they can be quite detailed when you run some of them.
