What is our primary use case?

I use AlgoSec for firewall policy management and security compliance across multiple firewalls and network security devices.

For example, if a new application server needed communication with a database server, AlgoSec checks the traffic path, identifies which firewall is involved, and recommends the required rule change, while ensuring compliance policies are maintained. This helps the organization reduce manual effort, improve firewall security, speed up change management, and simplify compliance audits.

What is most valuable?

The best key features AlgoSec offers are firewall policy analysis, security policy optimization, application connectivity mapping, risk analysis, compliance checks, compliance reporting, and security posture assessment.

The feature that has been most valuable for me personally is security policy optimization, which I use in my daily work.

By using AlgoSec, the workflow becomes centralized and automated, making it easier to automate and simplify the firewall change management process. When an application team requests connectivity between servers, the network and security team has to manually check network paths, identify involving firewalls, and create the rules.

AlgoSec automatically analyzes traffic per flows, identifies affected firewalls, and checks security compliance before implementation.

The outcomes of benefits include improving firewall management efficiency, reducing security risk, and speeding up network processes. By automating firewall policy management, improving security visibility, reducing operational effort, and speeding up the change management process, we see positive impacts.

AlgoSec saves a lot of operational time by automating firewall rule analysis, policy checks, and change management workflow. For example, it allows for faster firewall rule creation and approval, and reduces troubleshooting time. Additionally, it helps to meet compliance standards such as ISO, PCI DSS, and internal security policies with automated compliance reporting.

What needs improvement?

I would rate AlgoSec probably an eight out of ten because it provides excellent firewall visibility, policy management, and compliance. I do not give it a full ten because deployment and integration can be complex in a large enterprise environment and the licensing costs can be high, depending on the infrastructure size.

I chose eight out of ten mostly because of the deployment complexity and licensing costs.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AlgoSec for more than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

AlgoSec is stable in my experience.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

  • May 12, 2026
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

Our primary use case for AlgoSec is firewall policy management, security policy analysis, and compliance monitoring with the enterprise network environment. AlgoSec also helps us streamline security operations by simplifying firewall rule review, supporting compliance requirements, and assisting with risk assessment activities.

In day-to-day work, we use AlgoSec to review firewall rules and identify overall permissive and unused access policies across the network environment. For example, before implementing a new firewall rule request, we analyze the traffic flow in AlgoSec to verify whether the requested access is actually required and whether it introduces any security risk or compliance issue.

How has it helped my organization?

AlgoSec has positively impacted our organization by improving visibility into firewall policy, simplifying security operations, and reducing the time required for manual firewall review and compliance checks. It has also improved our compliance and audit process by providing structured reports and better tracking of policy changes. Before using AlgoSec, analyzing complex firewall rules and validating access requests required significant manual effort. With AlgoSec, we can quickly identify risk, unused, and misconfigured policies.

One of the most noticeable improvements was the reduction in the time spent on manual firewall rule analysis and audit preparation. Tasks that previously required several hours of manual review could be completed much faster using AlgoSec's automated policy analysis and reporting features.

What is most valuable?

The best feature AlgoSec offers is centralized firewall policy management, which makes it easy to analyze and manage complex firewall environments from a single platform. Another valuable feature is automated risk analysis and compliance monitoring. AlgoSec helps identify overly permissive, unused policies, shadowed rules, and compliance violations, which is very useful during security audits and governance activities.

The feature I rely on the most is firewall policy analysis and risk visibility. It helps me quickly identify overly permissive, duplicate, unused, or risky firewall rules across the environment. We save a significant amount of manual review time. One situation where this feature made a major difference was during an internal security review and firewall audit process. We needed to validate multiple firewall rule requests and check whether any existing rules were creating unnecessary exposure.

What needs improvement?

AlgoSec is a strong platform for firewall policy management, but some areas need to be improved. One important area would be enhancing the user interface and dashboard experience to make navigation more interactive, especially for new users working with complex network environments.

Additionally, expanding integration capability with more third-party security tools, SIEM platforms, and cloud-native environments would make the platform even more efficient for organizations managing hybrid infrastructure. The platform optimization in very large-scale environments where policy analysis and data loading can sometimes take longer depending on the network complexity.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been working in this field for two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

AlgoSec is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

AlgoSec's scalability has been good in our experience, especially for organizations managing multiple firewalls, complex network infrastructure, and growing security environments. The platform is capable of handling large-scale firewall policy management and can integrate with different security devices across enterprise networks. As the environment grows, AlgoSec helps maintain centralized visibility and consistent policy management without significantly increasing the manual workload.

How are customer service and support?

Customer support is good.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I did not use any solution before using AlgoSec.

How was the initial setup?

Our experience with AlgoSec's pricing and licensing was generally positive. The initial setup and licensing cost can be relatively higher for smaller organizations, particularly when managing multiple firewalls and large-scale network infrastructure. However, for enterprise environments, the platform delivers good value by reducing manual effort, improving compliance management, and streamlining firewall operations. The setup process was manageable, although proper planning and integration with existing security infrastructure were important for smooth deployment.

What was our ROI?

I have seen a positive return on investment from using AlgoSec, mainly through time saving and improved operational efficiency. One clear example was during firewall audits and policy review processes. Before using AlgoSec, reviewing firewall rules and validating access requests required significant manual analysis and coordination, which could take several hours depending on the complexity of the environment. With AlgoSec's automated policy analysis and reporting capabilities, the same task could be completed much faster and with better accuracy.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to organizations considering AlgoSec would be to firstly clarify and understand their network architecture, firewall involvement, and security governance requirements before implementation. It is also important to plan integration properly with existing firewalls, security tools, and compliance processes to fully utilize the platform's capabilities. Organizations should invest time in understanding the policy analysis, risk visibility, and reporting features because these areas provide significant operational benefit. I would rate this product an eight out of ten.

Automation has streamlined firewall policy changes and improved compliance visibility

  • May 12, 2026
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use AlgoSec for policy optimization, basic rule review, and network automation through FireFlow, as we implement policies on the firewall using AlgoSec and utilize risk profile and baseline compliance to meet the standards required for compliance in our market.

After onboarding the firewalls, we analyze the devices, monitoring, log collection, and analysis to ensure everything is working correctly. Once verified, we receive analysis reports that display multiple insights including unused rules from the last 90 or 180 days. Any rule not receiving traffic is considered an unused rule. The reports also identify redundant and special case rules, and show which rules have logging disabled. AlgoSec includes a special feature called Intelligent Policy Tuner (IPT), which provides suggestions for wider subnets to break down rules. The policy automation report displays risky rules where risk has been triggered.

We have implemented multiple automations in AlgoSec. We integrated AlgoSec FireFlow module with ServiceNow, where a user raises a request that triggers an API call between ServiceNow and AlgoSec. Once a manager approves the request, AlgoSec raises a ticket and checks the source and destination services to implement the policy on the relevant firewall.

What is most valuable?

The best feature in AlgoSec is in Firewall Analyzer, specifically IPT, which provides suggestions to break down rules, along with the baseline compliance feature that advises on modifications per market standards.

In IPT, on firewalls, there are multiple rules with wider subnets open, like 192.168.0.0/24. AlgoSec analyzes the traffic based on firewall logs to provide suggestions, such as dividing that subnet and suggesting traffic use cases from specific addresses.

The policy optimization reports from AlgoSec give a detailed overview of firewall rules, allowing us to monitor them effectively. AlgoSec provides change and audit reports on firewall rules, which we check whenever required. By using FireFlow, it significantly reduces the time needed to implement firewall policies and eliminates human errors during automation.

Multiple features in AlgoSec assist with automation, saving time in implementing firewall policies and reducing human errors through the API call between ServiceNow and AlgoSec.

What needs improvement?

For baseline compliance, modifying any standard profile according to our organization's needs requires adding customization. It would be beneficial to have training sessions on how to add custom risk profiles and baseline compliance profiles.

With 10 to 20 firewalls from Check Point, we need a single dashboard to verify firewall versions or vulnerabilities, functioning as a CISO dashboard for tracking purposes and allowing direct access to check current firewall versions and vulnerabilities.

TAC support takes too much time. When raising any request for technical support, the response is slow despite their efforts to help according to their standards.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AlgoSec for 2.5 years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

AlgoSec is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

AlgoSec is scalable for our organization.

How are customer service and support?

TAC support takes too much time. When raising any request for technical support, the response is slow despite their efforts to help according to their standards.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

I have used multiple solutions, including AlgoSec and competitors FireMon and Tufin, but AlgoSec stands out as really user-friendly and easy for any security engineer to handle.

How was the initial setup?

AlgoSec is really helpful. The tool is user-friendly and can be handled by anyone, as the GUI interface is very good.

What about the implementation team?

We are a partner of AlgoSec.

What was our ROI?

I do not know about the return on investment because we have used AlgoSec for more than four to five years and found it very helpful from a user-friendly perspective as network security operations, but I am not privy to the financial aspects.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing, setup cost, and licensing are managed by higher management, so we are not involved in that part.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

We chose AlgoSec for the first time; however, some colleagues shared their experiences with competitors Tufin and FireMon, but we did not have a good experience with them during the POC. We have not evaluated too many options before choosing AlgoSec.

What other advice do I have?

TAC support takes too much time. When raising any request for technical support, the response is slow despite their efforts to help according to their standards.

AlgoSec is really helpful. The tool is user-friendly and can be handled by anyone, as the GUI interface is very good. I would rate this review 9 out of 10.

The initial setup required some planning because of integration with multiple firewalls and security systems, but the deployment process itself was manageable. The licensing module was flexible for enterprise use, and the value mainly came from reduced manual effort, faster compliance reporting, and improved firewall policies. The pricing can feel a bit higher for smaller organizations or teams with limited security management requirements.

What was our ROI?

A positive return on investment has been seen, mainly through time savings and improved operational efficiency in firewall rule review, compliance checks, and policy analysis. Tasks that previously required several hours of manual work can now be completed much faster, reducing manual efforts by approximately 40 to 50 percent.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

Several other security policy management solutions were evaluated, including Tufin and FireMon. AlgoSec stood out because of its centralized visibility, compliance automation, risk analysis features, and ease of managing policy across multiple firewall vendors.

What other advice do I have?

AlgoSec has been a valuable solution for improving firewall management, compliance monitoring, and security visibility. Its automation and risk analysis features help reduce manual efforts and improve operational efficiency. While there is still room for improvement in usability and customization, AlgoSec remains a strong and reliable platform for managing complex security environments. This review is rated 8 out of 10.

What is our primary use case?

My main use case for AlgoSec is firewall policy management, rule cleanup, and automated security change tracking across different network devices.

I use AlgoSec to identify unused or overly permissive firewall rules before audits, and it helps track who changed what rule and when across multiple firewalls.

AlgoSec automates the policy change process by validating requests, tracking approvals, and documenting every change before it gets pushed to the firewalls.

AlgoSec integrates with our firewalls, SIEM, and ticketing systems to streamline policy changes, audit tracking, and compliance workflows from a single platform.

AlgoSec helps visualize traffic flows between network segmentation and identifies overly permissive rules or risky access paths that could increase exposure across the environment.

What is most valuable?

The best features AlgoSec offers for me are the firewall rule analysis, automatic change tracking, multi-vendor visibility, and ability to quickly identify risky or unused rules before they become a security issue.

Multi-vendor visibility helps significantly because I manage different firewall brands in the same environment, and AlgoSec gives me a single view of policies and traffic flows instead of checking each device separately.

The visibility and rule analysis are the standout features for me, but I would like to see a more modern UI and faster reporting performance in very large environments.

AlgoSec has positively impacted my organization by reducing the time spent on firewall audits and rule review significantly, and it has helped improve overall policy consistency across the network.

What needs improvement?

AlgoSec could improve the UI responsiveness and reporting speed, especially in large enterprise environments with significant policy data and connected devices.

Better third-party integrations and more flexible customization in reports and dashboards with AlgoSec would make it even more useful in day-to-day operations.

I would like to see better scalability for large rule sets and more intuitive policy simulation during change planning with AlgoSec.

For enterprise environments, AlgoSec handles multiple vendor, hybrid, and multi-cloud networks effectively, though very large deployments can sometimes slow down and need additional tuning for optimal performance.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using AlgoSec for around one and a half years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

AlgoSec is stable.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

AlgoSec scales well overall, especially for multi-firewall environments, but performance can slow down slightly when managing very large rule bases and high volumes of policy changes.

How are customer service and support?

The customer support for AlgoSec is great.

Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?

Previously I relied mostly on manual firewall management with the native vendor tools, but I switched to AlgoSec for better automation, centralized visibility, and compliance tracking across multiple platforms.

How was the initial setup?

The onboarding to AlgoSec is fairly straightforward since the dashboard is easy to navigate and most team members pick up the core policy management workflows quickly.

The documentation for AlgoSec is detailed and useful for setup and troubleshooting, and the training resources are sufficient for getting new admins comfortable with the platform.

What about the implementation team?

AlgoSec was purchased directly through the vendor.

What was our ROI?

I have seen noticeable ROI mainly through the time savings, with firewall review and compliance tasks that used to take multiple days now usually completed within a few hours, which reduced much manual effort for my network security team.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing for AlgoSec is on the higher side, but the automation and time savings during audits and policy management make it worthwhile for larger environments.

Which other solutions did I evaluate?

I also looked at Tufin and FireMon during the evaluation process before deciding on AlgoSec.

What other advice do I have?

My advice to others looking into using AlgoSec is to make sure you properly map your firewall environments and workflows before deployment because AlgoSec delivers the most value when the policies, integrations, and approval processes are well-organized from the start.

AlgoSec helps my organization meet compliance requirements by automatically defining risky or non-compliant firewall rules and generating audit-ready reports, which makes compliance reviews much faster and more consistent.

Before using AlgoSec, some firewall rule review and audit tasks used to take days of manual checking, but now most of those reviews are completed in a few hours with much better visibility and tracking.

Overall, AlgoSec has been a strong addition to my security operations, especially improving visibility, reducing manual workflow, and simplifying compliance management across different environments. I rate this product eight out of ten.
