An impactful tool for AB testing and feature flag management

  • April 23, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Seamless-ness of setting up feature flags, and SDKs that work well across different platforms.
the results section gives some intuitive overviews and analytics based on simple to set up metrics.
Our organization uses this service very often and we conduct 2-3 experiments simultaneously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation can lack technical clarity sometimes which can lead to a lot of support time with the customer representatives. But they were very helpful. Very costly and the pricing model is a bit strange.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
centralized place for all flags and also monitoring ab test results

LaunchDarkly is a Great Tool for Flag Management

  • February 04, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how efficient it is to manage flags for different environments of our software. It also has a great comparison feature to flag environments that are not on in a particular environment
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be cumbersome to combine flags into packages if the software's offering is based on tiered groups of features
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly solves my need to manage features effectively by environment and segment of users. This helps to cut down time when shipping features to specific customers

LaunchDarkly is a good tool for some

  • January 30, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
LaunchDarkly has proved a very useful tool for me and my team professionally. It is easy to use (once set up) and can give the team a variety of deployment options. We can deploy a feature without fear of a forced rollback when something goes wrong, we can also test with small audiences rather than deploying to everyone, everywhere, all at once.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes flags can end up cluttering the code, it would be nice if there was a way to automatically generate cleanup issues on github after a certain amount of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly solves the problem of how to deploy to a specific audience rather than everyone at once. Without LD it woul dbe very very hard to do this.

What do you like best about the product?
My team primarily uses the feature flags. We integrate this service with out AWS services and can easily toggle code switches. I enjoy the simplicity and customization if you need something more complex.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not personally dealt with it enough to have dislikes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LaunchDarkly makes it easy to disable/rollback a change should an issue arise in prod. It also allows for parallel testing without redeploying.

Improving task visibility control with error prevention features

  • November 06, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I have been using LaunchDarkly for more than one year due to the nature of my projects. Whenever we want to avoid multiple builds, we use a flag to enable future changes in the production environment.

How has it helped my organization?

LaunchDarkly allows us to control deployments without multiple builds. It enables us to show the status of tasks to clients when necessary, and when a task is not complete, we can prevent it from being visible by turning off the flag.

What is most valuable?

The ability to turn off a flag is crucial when a task is not complete, especially if there is an error in a commit. This feature ensures that uncompleted tasks are not shown to clients.

What needs improvement?

Right now, no improvements are needed. In the future, after further analysis, if I have any concerns, I may change my mind.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using LaunchDarkly for more than one year.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

I have not faced any issues with the stability of LaunchDarkly.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

I just used it for one feature. I need to analyze fully in LaunchDarkly and review the documentation. If I have any concerns, I will let you know.

How are customer service and support?

I don't have an idea about the support team as I didn't have to contact them or open a ticket.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward and not complex.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I do not know the cost of LaunchDarkly as it was implemented offshore. I am not aware of its pricing or whether it is a free or paid source.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend LaunchDarkly for projects with multiple builds. If you wrongly commit tasks, turning off the flag ensures features do not show up for the client.

I'd rate the solution seven out of ten.

  • October 16, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use LaunchDarkly for managing feature flags. It helps manage the keys to control what users view on our screens.

How has it helped my organization?

By managing the feature flags, we can target users and control what needs to be visible on their screens.

What is most valuable?

I like that it offers the ability to control the flags.

What needs improvement?

We need experience to use it, and the initial setup can be difficult. Also, sometimes it has breakdowns.

I would rate LaunchDarkly a seven out of ten.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using it for almost two years.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Sometimes it has breakdowns.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

It is easily scalable.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is a bit difficult.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I consider the pricing to be high.

What other advice do I have?

I would recommend new users to use LaunchDarkly because of its advantages.

Launch darkly review

  • September 23, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is pretty easy to use and intuitive in nature.

Flag management is pretty easy. LD provides an intuitive interface for creating, monitoring, and adjusting flags. The history of the flags is easily accessible as well

Easy to integrate
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometime while adding the rules, some of the fields that are not even populated are accepted. Was confusing for me the first time around.

Rules are not easily visualisable. If we can somehow expose an api using which the user can play around and check for response in diff scenarios
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses it primarily for feature management. Features are often released behind a flag and are later enabled for either all or certain set of users

LaunchDarkly has made development process easier. Its feature flagging capabilities allow us to deploy code without worrying about immediate releases. The ability to instantly toggle features on or off has greatly reduced our risk during launches.

One downside of LaunchDarkly is that UI changes of the application can occur abruptly.

Managing a large number of flags can become cumbersome, making it harder to maintain clean.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing for ease of testing in production and deploying and rolling out new features to production much easier. Also being able to turn off flags.
A/B testing capabilities
