Works well but per-user pricing is a bit ridiculous
What do you like best about the product?
Seems to offer anything and everything you could need for tests, and manages to do it very performantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
The pricing per-user is prohibitively expensive. It shouldn't make any difference if we have one user administering our tests or 100. Pricing should depend on things like the volume of invocations. It really just encourages either account sharing or being stingy with access - both of which hurt LD more than they help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Low latency variant cohorting for end users. It helps us in that we already had a solution for this but it added latency overhead to requests which LaunchDarkly is able to avoid.
Good product all around
What do you like best about the product?
It's packed with features and covers all of our needs so far, including more complex ones.
What do you dislike about the product?
Their UI is a bit clanky. The day-to-day operations require multiple clicks and screens, yet more complex stuff are a single click away.
Their JS SDK could also use an improvement. It works great, but requires a couple of levels of abstraction to get any actual production-ready material code out of it.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're doing gradual rollout of features all the time, as well as block features behind feature flags.
LaunchDarkly allows us to do all that.

Great tool for enabling features on production on the fly
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate user interface
Quickly able to rollback features if production issues are found

What do you dislike about the product?
API docs can be developer friendly
Sometimes can be difficut to test in the code base. Mocks included in SDKs can make it easier to test

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to rollback new features when production issues are found
Promising feature flag management with clear areas of improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Generally pretty reliable and easy enough to use for small number of flags and rules. I'm not familiar with other feature flag services but the general functionalities are enough to cover our use cases for the most part.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to "select" and copy text from rules is pretty annoying. The latest changes to the UI also seem unnecessary and actually detract from usability a bit. For instance, you can't "find and search" for an existing value of a rule as easily anymore if any sections are collapsed. Variations should also indicate if they are not in use by any rule for easy cleanup too (or have a last used date as well). I think others at the company are not impressed by the permission granularity as well - for instance inability for developers to rename or delete a flag that they're still working on without escalating to someone with higher perms, since it's been created in "prod" even if they're testing it in our development environment.
Search functionality for existing flag is a bit lacking, partial matches are not done well.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Biggest problem LD is solving for us is how to deploy different variations to different groups.
It was good
What do you like best about the product?
You can use as a flag. You can turn on and off
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing i can remember at this point. We cannot use on client side testing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Make testing feature easily. You can turn on or off the flag easily
Good tool for feature flagging and running user segmentation
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use, contains features that are user friendly and gives vast opportunities to control features certain users see and is quite useful for running AB tests. Customer support is always there to help, my team has been on multiple calls to solve certain problems we had. We use LD for every AB test, feature flagging users and giving our users certain versions of the app. Our developers integrate LD into their code without hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a limit to the number of users that can be added manually through .csv which is quite important when we have to do AA test and secure that our cohorts are actually random. 50-50 split isn't really random and its quite unpredictable. It would be good for output of the split LD offers to be WHO got WHAT version but that still wouldnt solve actual randomness of the distribution. With focus on ease of implementation there are some things that are sacraficed when you want to deep dive into special features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarely we use it for AB tests where we give one version of app to certain users and other version to other users. Also we use it sometimes when we want to isolate some power users to test some features on them. Since we have same codebase for multiple countries we need to manage which features we give to certain countries.
Launch Darkly: A Great Product but at a premium price
What do you like best about the product?
Launch Darkly is incredibly easy to deploy feature flags and target them to certain users. Their developers do a great job with abstracting all the details away from the developer and their statistics are incredibly helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
All of these come at the expense of actually paying for a license per user. The best features of this product are only most accessible when each person on the team has a licence. That is often hard at a large corporate scale.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Launch Darkly is great at controlling the exact time of release and enables us to have conversations with our users on what time is best to release independent of our deploy time.
Simple solution to manage your feature flags
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity in creating and maintain our feature flags
Can be customized (openning feature flag by any reported value)

What do you dislike about the product?
I can't see easily differences between envs
I can't align easily values between envs
I can't align easily values between envs
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Separate feature rollout from the deployment
Good robust tool for flag management but missing some enhanced capabilities
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating flags and using them is exemplary. Besides the metrics showing how frequenty flags are being evaluated is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prerequisite flags do not solve all use cases especially when mix of flags are used in multiple ongoing dev projects.
The release pipeline UI is confusing when coupled with switch environment options.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building features iteratively without hampering production user experience.
LD Review
What do you like best about the product?
Functionality, flexibility, ease of use & UI/UX
What do you dislike about the product?
Some recent changes to UI recently, slowness at times when updating a large flag configuration, recent outage
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to release to production behind LD flags and toggle those features on/off without engineering work. We can also throttle volume flexibly for pilot programs, found bugs, etc.
