Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT is our primary product, distributed to most of our clients. Our dedicated GoAnywhere team has been deploying and providing Level One and Level Two support for the product for many years. Since 2017, we have distributed GoAnywhere to numerous clients in India who consistently renew their subscriptions. While they may evaluate other products, they ultimately return to GoAnywhere due to its compliance features, automation capabilities, workflows, and security measures.
One of our clients has implemented GoAnywhere MFT's Secure Forms for initial registration. This solution enhances user and server security while allowing end-users to self-register.
One of our clients uses the GoFast feature to transfer large files.
GoAnywhere MFT facilitates efficient connectivity with third parties, provided the firewall policies are open.
What is most valuable?
Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT offers robust security as its most valuable feature. It provides multiple cipher options for HTTPS and SFTP protocols, utilizing AES-based algorithms for secure communication and data transfer. As a testament to its security capabilities, GoAnywhere was recognized as a leading product by Gartner in 2023. Furthermore, it offers robust automation capabilities, enabling us to customize and automate file transfers and replacements, streamlining workflows through scheduling and monitoring features. While the technical support team is knowledgeable, their response time for critical issues needs improvement. A response within one business day is insufficient for urgent matters.

We have worked with other Managed File Transfer solutions like IP Switch, but GoAnywhere offers a single dashboard for all features. While IP Switch requires two different solutions to manage MFT, GoAnywhere provides a single dashboard to manage automated and manual file transfers.
How was the initial setup?
The deployment is straightforward and takes roughly two days to complete.

Return on investment is evident in the reduction of resource utilization. This workflow automation solution has enabled three customers to reduce their workforce by automating tasks previously performed by employees. For example, GoAnywhere can perform the work of three people, leading to a decrease in manpower needs for automation and file transfer. Additionally, GoAnywhere enhances security and helps customers achieve compliance by automating the file transfer process, eliminating the need for manual file transfers and ensuring secure delivery to the destination.

GoAnywhere MFT requires ongoing maintenance to ensure optimal performance and security. Regular updates, including patches and upgrades, are released approximately every three months to address vulnerabilities and introduce new features. Keeping the system up-to-date is essential for its continued functionality and protection against potential threats.
As a technical professional, I recommend Fortra's GoAnywhere MFT due to its comprehensive feature set and unified dashboard, which streamline functionalities that often require multiple tools in other, more costly MFT solutions.

not reciving proper notification for the admin user on the new updates, we have to keep on looking to release note link.

Ease of use and implement in a very short time. Professional service engaged for migrating GoAnywhere to another domain was very helpful

GUI may need some improvement as you get lost where to look to for what you want to do.

What do you like best about the product?
Customer Service is genuine and personally tailored and Technical support is outstanding. Each project and support case is treated with the utmost respect and care.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is pretty good, but can be improved by expanding some pieces, especially around errors and troubleshooting, going into a little more depth around Gateway/Clustering multiple environments as well as resources like S3 resources for multiple file upload
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Offering automation of file transfer across our whole Organization is a benefit to many at Banner. We are very happy with GoAnywhere and its vast capabilities.
User-Friendly Platform and Specialized Support
What do you like best about the product?
Platform that allows you to generate forms quickly and with a friendly programming flow to be able to save information safely in your repository, it has a specialized support area and the manufacturer provides constant updates in case of detecting any vulnerability or improvement of the product.

What do you like best about the product?
It is modular in that you can easily reuse project snippets from other projects; basis is in XML; simple to install and upgrade; you can schedule projects to run via the AS400 job scheduler or the internal job scheduler; works with many other interfaces; has a robust knowledgebase and community and experts on the support team; we have some projects that run100s of times per hour

I wish the support team would provide more and better support when working on a new projects

GoAnyWhere helps us with migrating from FTP which is a security risk to SFTP and has helped us move files from system to system seemlessly for EDI
Flexible, Affordable Managed File Transfer
What do you like best about the product?
The project configuration tool uses drag-and-drop components, but also has a powerful expression language that can be used for tasks like manipulating file and folder names.
What do you dislike about the product?
Cloud service connectors are additional purchases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Automating file transfers between us and our partners, and between internal processes. Running processes on schedules or when files are detected in folders. Transferring between SMB shares, SFTP servers, and REST endpoints. Providing a secure portal for individuals and external processes to drop off or pick up files using HTTPS or SFTP.
Powerful tool
What do you like best about the product?
Great for a simple file transfer and can also easily be programmed to do complicated processing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Worst for me is the time out of the software. I tend to get logged out if I get sidetracked by something else and have to log back in and release the lock on my projects.

Able to take many different files either emailed to us or we go gt via FTP and load the data in SQL via stored procedures we create.

What do you like best about the product?
GoAnywhere MFT is great transfer tool for transfering reports out of our environment or even with in our enviornment. we uses it for daily transactions or recipts to monthly HR reports to extracting email reports to shares in our domain. Its ease of set up and configuration are great. It is very easy to keep upgraded with little to no effort on my part as an admin.
We also use the web interface tools for vedor uploads and downloads and for large images that can not be emailed within or domain.

Have not been able to get GoAnywhere MFT Google Connect to work in our enviornment more then likly it is our required restrictions and permissions at fault and not the software. Customer support is sometimes slow to connect with us on some questions we have about the software. but overall they generally come thru for us with the answer to our questions.
