What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan is a highly flexible and user-friendly platform that requires no coding, making it accessible to a broad range of users. The tool’s intuitive design allows for a wide variety of applications, with instant calculations that streamline analysis. I also appreciate the robust online learning resources and the supportive Anaplan community, which provides valuable insights and networking opportunities.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform has size limitations unless you are on a Hypermodel. Additionally, it may slow down when too many users are accessing it concurrently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan provides a flexible platform that enables us to transition multiple Excel-based models into a centralised system, streamlining our processes and consolidating final forecasts with greater efficiency and accuracy

Anaplan has unified our planning processes across departments, ensuring data consistency and accuracy. Its real-time data integration enables faster, more informed decision-making. Flexible Platform that Provides Enough Standardization
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan provides business teams with a flexible platform in which they are able to easily model new use cases and add enhancements to existing models. The platform adds the additional benefit of standardization across the models which ensures ease of maintenance and cuts down on admin work for teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Modeling needs to be thoughtful from the start of implementation of new models as workspace can become an issue if model builders don't think through design and sparsity before they execute.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan allows our users to take advantage of standardization across different models which greatly reduces the time they spend managing updates to spreadsheets and refocus on actual planning and analysis.
Anaplan: Scalable and flexible - best for non-standard use cases
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan's flexibility is the best thing about it. This is particularly helpful in use cases that are not stnadard and can't be catered to via your typical out of the box technology solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan has a high cost to it, particularly around licensing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan is helping us centralize a historically disjointed planning process. This has allowed us to gain process efficiencies and pull in the reigns on a process that has long been difficult to manage. Not only has this brought detailed refinement, but it also has saved countless hours within our process.
Anaplan: A Flexible and Robust Platform
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan’s flexibility and ability to handle complex, multi-dimensional models are among its best features. It leverages multi-dimensionality and advanced formula referencing for real time calculations and outputs. It has an active community and extensive learning academy with courses going over various topics and best practices, which happen to help with the building process that can be challenging.
What do you dislike about the product?
The major drawback for me is the lack of native integration with external systems, which has required us to do additional work to connect external data sources through API. Anaplan announced however the upcoming release of the Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) which I hope will address this limitation by improving data integration and orchestration native capabilities.

Anaplan has helped clients solve numerous challenges by providing a robust, scalable, and flexible platform that transforms how businesses plan and operate. It delivered significant value to clients by streamlining their planning processes, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and enabling more agile, data-driven operations. Some of the key problems Anaplan has addressed for clients include: Eliminating Siloed Planning, Automating Manual Processes, Enabling Real-Time Scenario Planning, Enhancing Forecasting Accuracy, Scaling to Meet Business Growth and Improving Collaboration.
Anaplan: From the Perspective of a Certified Master Anaplanner
What do you like best about the product?
Anaplan's flexibility allows for custom modeling solutions. Finance teams can plan in models tailed specifically to their needs. Source ERP to Anaplan integration can be automated using Anaplan Connect or other third party integration platforms. Numerous users can plan in a model simultaneously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Anaplan's flexibility is both a blessing and a curse. Models need to be developed and maintained by model building experts that fully understand the business requirements. Models built without sufficient skill on the part of the model builders, or without sufficient input and oversight from the business, can result in implementation failure.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan has streamlined business planning consolidation and workbook version control. The headaches associated with combining / error handling dozens of excel based budget models have been alleviated. Models are refreshed daily via SAP BW integration with Actuals results, and finance teams can determine when to export plan data back to SAP BW.

Anaplan is quite expense and a lot of functionality needed additional cost e.g. workflow, Fluence etc.

What do you like best about the product?
They have a clear vision, and product innovation is constant, with new features introduced regularly. This tool is easy to integrate and doesn't require an IT background.
What do you dislike about the product?
With six years of experience using Anaplan, I can confidently say there is nothing to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Anaplan's connected planning is highly valued by clients worldwide. As a model builder, I have successfully implemented connected planning to integrate Supply and Demand, enhancing Inventory Management within Anaplan. In Finance, I have utilized connected planning for Cash Flow Management, Capex Control, EPS Calculations, and Consolidations within a single model. Anaplan truly excels in delivering impressive connected planning solutions.

Ease of Implementation - I am more from business background and it requires nearly no technical background for the implementation.
Tracebility - drill down and history functionality help users to trace to the source of the figures to verify the source data and user inputs
Flexibility of planning hierarchy - ease of creating and maintaing the planning hierarchies
Ease of change - Planning requirements could have changes every year, and Anaplan is flexible to adopt changes

Excel Add-in - Lots of business users like using it but the tool actually is not sophisticated enough; The workaround is try to lead business users to use Anaplan New UX instead of excel add-in
Data Integration - It would be great if Anaplan has the file systems on cloud, so that users may easily trace the source files that they use to upload.
