Secure and Accessible File Storage, But Upgrades Are Pricey

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is a secure place to hold files commonly used. And, most importantly, I am able to access these files anywhere. I also like that I can have a folder integrated within my MacBook.
What do you dislike about the product?
Too pricy for upgrading from the free 2 GB plan. Would consider if a midrange option was offered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My personal account allows me to access and share documents across multiple platforms, where I might normally have to go home to retrieve them from the source.

My business account allows for file sharing and collaboration among customers and coworkers. A typical use: Photos and documents are shared with our customer to gain approval prior to shipment.

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox for about fifteen years for a variety of purposes, including collaboration and backups. I appreciate its core functionality of storing files, enabling me to access them later. This feature allows me to keep a safe backup of my files, offering peace of mind. Moreover, Dropbox's safety, availability, and longevity are significant factors that would encourage me to consider purchasing it again. I also like the applications like Microsoft Office that I can access.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the Dropbox desktop application difficult and sometimes confusing. Additionally, the web application is confusing and cumbersome. The search functionality is not very effective compared to Google's, making it challenging to find files efficiently. The organization of files and inconsistent use of right-click options also add to the confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to store and access files securely, providing a reliable backup and aiding collaboration while ensuring file safety, availability, and longevity.

Reliable Document Storage, Needs Better Sharing Features

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate the robust file system that Dropbox offers. It's become an integral part of my business and personal life, acting as a reliable filing cabinet for storing documents and files. This traditional file structure aligns with the way I understand computer infrastructure, which is something I’m comfortable with due to my familiarity with it over the years. I enjoy the accessibility that Dropbox provides as an easy-to-use hard drive, allowing me to store files efficiently without having to go through the process of uploading, unlike some other platforms. Furthermore, the scan features of Dropbox have integrated well into my workflow, simplifying my file management tasks. The cost-effectiveness of Dropbox is also appealing, making it a practical choice for my current needs. Overall, Dropbox offers a level of convenience and familiarity that I find very beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the initial setup of Dropbox to be quite difficult, especially since I had to manage multiple stores and ensure synchronized access across various devices. The challenge was to both share and keep information separate, while managing user controls. This complexity was compounded by Dropbox being both a desktop app and a cloud system. Additionally, the sharing capabilities could be improved as they are not as seamless or easy to use in comparison to other platforms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
n/a

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate using Dropbox as a great place to keep my files securely. Its storage capabilities give me peace of mind when it comes to data safety, knowing my files are well-protected. I've been using Dropbox for a long time, and its integration with tools like MS Word and other Mac software is seamless, facilitating my usual tasks without any hassle. This reliability over the years makes me trust Dropbox for my storage needs.

Effortless File Sharing with Room for Simplification

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Dropbox since 2016 for file sharing, and it has been an indispensable tool for my music career, allowing me to easily share large files over the internet and via email. Setting up Dropbox was super easy, and I found it extremely user-friendly and straightforward to work with. It saves me a lot of trouble and time when transferring large files, as it makes file sharing effortless by simply sending a link, which eliminates the need to worry about formats. I especially find the view function very useful for my needs, as well as the feature that allows me to copy links. Using Dropbox on my Mac is seamless, especially with the built-in share to Dropbox button, which I use continually. The features that keep me with Dropbox include its ability to handle large file transfers efficiently, saving me time, and providing a hassle-free method of sharing and viewing files.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Dropbox a bit convoluted and complicated to use due to the multiple ways to perform tasks such as deleting or sharing files. Simplifying these processes would make it more user-friendly. Additionally, the initial storage space provided has decreased over the years, which affects its value for me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox for transferring large files and file sharing, saving time and simplifying the process by easily sending links without worrying about formats.

Great service for access to documents

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Access any time, anywhere, to my fillers. Access across multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
The next level above the free account is $11.99 a month. Considering that many streaming services for entertainment, that are used daily, are only $7.99 a month, it comes across as excessive, for something that is used occasionally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessibility to my documents.

Reliable and simple file-sharing tool for creative professionals

  • October 31, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is incredibly easy to use and reliable for organizing, sharing, and backing up files across multiple projects. As someone managing large design and video assets, I appreciate how seamlessly it syncs between devices and keeps version history. The folder sharing permissions and links make team collaboration smooth, especially when coordinating between multiple organizations or creative teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Occasionally, syncing large files can take longer than expected, and the desktop app sometimes needs to be restarted to refresh properly. The storage cost can also add up when managing multiple professional accounts, and more granular admin controls would be helpful for tracking shared folders and permissions across teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox helps me keep large media files and project materials organized and easily accessible across different teams and devices. In theater and design work, multiple collaborators need to review and share updates quickly, and Dropbox ensures that files are always in sync without confusion over versions. It simplifies file delivery for clients, supports backups, and saves a lot of time otherwise spent managing transfers manually.
