Reliable Cloud Storage, Slightly Pricey
What do you like best about the product?
I love how Dropbox effortlessly synchronizes large files across multiple locations, which is crucial for my business needs. It has been an integral tool for over a decade, primarily used for storing and sharing files with clients seamlessly. Dropbox was also the pioneer in cloud storage for my business, and its setup process was extremely easy. The new feature that allows me to retain files in the cloud is particularly beneficial, as it helps prevent excessive data storage on local devices. This feature enhances the efficiency of my storage management significantly. Moreover, I connect backup utilities directly to Dropbox, ensuring that all backups are securely housed in the cloud, adding an extra layer of convenience and reliability. The intuitiveness and practicality of Dropbox make it an indispensable tool in my daily operations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the cost of Dropbox to be a concern. I would consider keeping it if it were less expensive. Additionally, having options for family members to share files at a cheaper rate would be a benefit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Dropbox to synchronize large files across locations and store files in the cloud, preventing excess local storage and allowing seamless sharing with clients.
Useful for my needs!
What do you like best about the product?
It allows me to transfer large graphics files to my creative partners.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes my creative partners don't have Dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing me to transfer large scale files.
Very useful, if pricey
What do you like best about the product?
Having it available on multiple machines and having the ability to use it offline at any time so long as it synced.
What do you dislike about the product?
I like using Dropbox, but it's a little pricey for me. It's probably in line with all the other cloud storage options out there, but since I use it primarily for my freelance clients and I'm not at a place to justify buying more space, I use the free version. Things get glitchy going between computers and phones, but if you're okay with the price then all of that goes away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessing files offline and backing them up, specifically word documents, pdfs, and othe text based documents.
Probably the best of its competition...
What do you like best about the product?
As a professor, it is the most effective tool to facilitate collaboration with colleagues, collaborators, and students. It also works well across platforms and mobile devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
Ok, so it sometimes gets stuck with syncing across machines and devices. Also, at times, Dropbox seems to go through phases of trying to introduce new Dropbox products or features that I frankly have found confusing and/or unnecessary.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can have access to all my files and data on any of my laptops, desktops, or mobile devices. I do a lot of data analysis, and I can access my syntax and datafiles from Dropbox like I do from a folder on any machine.
Great for back up and working from unexpected locations
What do you like best about the product?
Aside from the obvious (cloud back up), I have unexpectedly needed to pull docs at times when I didn't have my computer or phone but was able to access them remotely because of the cloud storage.
What do you dislike about the product?
The option for collaborative use is very clunky. The requirement to download/revise/upload increases the possibility of error when trying to work on a document with colleagues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to safely store docs and pull them from any computer/device and any location.
Great Sharing Service for Files
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share files to anyone, anywhere, anytime!
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was more detail friendly like showing what size folders are and maybe a more user friendly interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I live in Utah and our editing office is in Nebraska so transferring files between states is the best benefit (I used to mail hard drives back and forth every week)
Useful and reliable
What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Dropbox for many years and enjoy the reliability and security.
What do you dislike about the product?
There seems to be difficulty between dropbox and recent updates to macs. I can't open all my dropbox files direct through finder, I have to make the available offline before I can open them which uses up unecessary computer storage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security if my computer fails.
