More user friendly than iCloud and google drive

  • February 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I downloaded Dropbox approximately 8 years ago and seldom used it. As an iPhone user I've never liked how iCloud Drive is needlessly forced upon you, and unfortunately I learned to use the overly complicated app as a default. I also use google products and drive will not easily share anything with non google users. I've returned to Dropbox in order to share simple links to my elderly parents. I regret that I never appreciated the ease of use until now
What do you dislike about the product?
The lower free storage amount isn't amazing but its simplicity would make me consider upgrading
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing of large files amongst coworkers for report review and writing requirements

The gold standard...with a little room to grow

What do you like best about the product?
The automatic backup gives me invaluable peace of mind, knowing my data is always safe. CAPTURE streamlines my workflow by making it incredibly easy to edit screenshots and incorporate them into emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
The current system makes it difficult to manage separate personal and business accounts. The switching process is so cumbersome that I've had to resort to using a separate user profile on my laptop for work. This significantly impacts my productivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sharing files, keeping backup, and quick and easy screenshot sharing.

Great software for syncing easily between devices

  • February 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have had a great experience with Dropbox so far as a Dropbox Plus user. It is very easy to sync files and the fact that you can easily get and transfer your files from and to other devices is extremely practical. The software is also quite light on CPU usage, which is a big plus. When it comes to collaboative use, it's also very useful to be able to keep shared files and folders updated, as well as to create sharing links for individual files.
What do you dislike about the product?
In some rare cases, syncing should really be quicker, as it sometimes takes dozen of minutes to sync big files. There are also a few instances where I had to manually end the Dropbox process because it was not syncing properly and prevented me from deleting folders or files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox enables me to have files synced across all my devices and share them easily with friends, family or coworkers.

What do you like best about the product?
Since everything is in the cloud, I can get up and running quickly on a new computer without any data loss and minimal downtime. Sharing files and links with clients is really easy and convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox.com is extrememtly difficult to navigate and I struggle to find the files I want. There are occassions when i'm not on my desktop and need to use it to find and share files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a home based small business with an international reach and as such I need to access my data anywhere and I don't want to be too reliant on my desktop and its local backups. Dropbox allows me to sleep soundly knowing all my data is safe in the cloud and it makes sharing files a breeze.

Decades of use and never a problem

  • February 14, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, recognizable web interface, perfect integration with online file structures.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't open microsoft files directly. Also, while I have an paid account, I cannot share files or folders with free account-holders as it blows out their storage limit. I work with contractors and this is often a huge problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storage of large files that fill up my laptop. Sharing and collaborating on projects (mainly MSOffice files) with contractors
