Dropbox is an essential tool for my family's use

  • February 13, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is great for sharing and editing files among my family members. Iike that I can easily copy a link to a file or folder and share it with someone via text or email. I also like that it can used to store some applications I use across different PC's. I find it to be very reliable, secure, and easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I have with Dropbox is that I've occasionally had issues sharing a worksheet or document with someone who had trouble openeing the document on their mobile device. When this happened recently, I was able to open the file and check access on my own phone and couldn't understand why others couldn't. I checked the access rights, etc. and couldn't figure out the problem. After multiple attempts and re-creating the sharing link it finally worked. I'm not sure what I possibly did wrong (if anything), so it made me question ifDropbox was still the best option for sharing files to someone using a mobile device (vs. a desktop PC, which seems to have no issues).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For my application, it solves the issue of having to share a file back and forth via email for editing. It saves time and effort.

Solid cloud sharing system

  • February 13, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The easy integretion of web and desktop app access to files is great. I love working on a project on my laptop and then be able to switch to the desktop and then be able to access what I worked on at my job. I like it better than iCloud and sharepoint--much easier to use and access my files because you keep the product simple. Whereas Apple and Microsoft focus on other apps and products that make its usage clunky, Dropbox isn't overextending or creating problems out of what it solves and functions as.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limitations on how many devices the free version is allowed to be on. I understand it from a business side of it, but I feel like I helped gain Dropbox customers when it started out because I used it as a college writing professor to endorse its usage in the writing process.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a professional creative writer and educator. This product allows me to work on multiple devices without losing a step in the creative process--and when my first book came out it allowed me to easily collaborate with the cover designer and the interior designer, as well as the editorial team to make efficient choices and edits. As a a writer, this has kept me highly organized with my pieces since I don't have to take extra steps to access the real time version when in need to switch devices.
