The ease of use is fantastic. The ability to drag and drop and move files and access is great.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes syncing a device to a computer can be tricky. Updates can be a bit off in terms of what is completed to move and use files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to share files between family and clients on personal and business needs.

Dropbox experience

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about dropbox is the cloud feature that allows you to store large amount of files into one place. you can categorize folders and sub-folders within as well, which is very convenient.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that there is no continuous playlist options when storing and then playing music files, you have to use the back button and forward button
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem that I'm solving most with dropbox is being able to access the files from anywhere with the cloud feature. also it has an offline feature too where you can download files and save them on your phone or drive.

Solid cloud storage solution

What do you like best about the product?
The synchronization for the desktop app is almost entirely seamless. I never have to worry about whether or not things are getting uploaded or downloaded. Sharing files is so much easier than through Adobe, iCloud, or OneDrive, literally just one click.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to dislike, only two things. One, you cannot change the names of computers backed up to Dropbox. I have 1 Mac and 3 PCs, and I can't easily tell the difference because Dropbox names them PC (1), PC (2), and PC (3). Secondly, backing up to Dropbox on a Mac removes the unique sidebar icons of folders like Desktop or Downloads. This is a bit nit-picky, but those icons are helpful to quickly identify folders, and they remain intact on the Windows version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox saves space on my computer, allows me to synchronize files between my many computers, and keeps my important files in an additional backup.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you’re looking for easy file transferring, storage, or backup, I would recommend strongly.

The best way to take everything with you everywhere you go

What do you like best about the product?
I like that there is basically unlimited storage (2tb) for the monthly fee. It allows me to keep everything I need at the office and at home, in one place where I know it is safe and backed up with versioning. I am able to access from Mac, Windows, ios, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing that I dislike is the cost. I know they offer a lot of features but I do not need 2 TB and making it mandatory for me to upgrade and not grandfathering the price was kind of a turn off.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to keep everything I need in one central location on all devices and it acts as a backup as well since I can log in to any new computer and quickly have access to whatever I should need from my dropbox account.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check your other options but I don't think you are going to find anything that offers all the features that dropbox does. Dropbox works, doesn't crash when there is a sync issue and is just generally the easiest one to use.

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to store and share files on the cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
That all file sharing users must have data storage instead of just the owner of the dropbox.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I can share files remotely.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
File space is limited unless you pay extra.

Great for sharing large files

  • August 12, 2019
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great for sharing large files. File links do not expire. It's easy to rename, delete, upload, download and favorite files.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a maximum storage for personal accounts. For more storage, you have to pay.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for sharing large files with people outside of your organization. Send files too large to attach to emails.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can also sync it to an app on your phone or mobile device.

Secure and Reliable

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox lets me send and receive information in a way where I can limit how long it's available. Others can download the data, but if it goes too long, the file is deleted, and I don't have to worry about it. It also allows me to be sure that I am only allowing a particular person to see it. That way, if there is any misuse, I'm covered. I appreciate that it is available through my employee dashboard, so I don't have to go hunting for the link.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish you could download larger files. The max size is 50 MB, with a per-person limit of 120 MB. If I am needing to transmit a sensitive document that contains pictures or video, or even many pages, I reach that limit very quickly. I can understand why the files go away and that they are meant to after a certain amount of time, but it still makes it less user-friendly, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are sending time-sensitive information, particularly info with student workers' personal information. We are making our communication more secure and private to protect sensitive data. It also creates a program that does not allow outdated information to get lumped in with newly updated data. If it's too old, it simply goes away.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I like that Dropbox only keeps items for a certain amount of time. It makes it more secure on my end to send information with details about students and statistics. It makes me feel better knowing that the information isn't hanging around forever.
