trying to think of one... this is too hard to find!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
having data available to all employees in real-time

Dropbox is a folder on my Mac. All my creative and work and business has lived there for 7 years.

What do you like best about the product?
It just works without friction right in the native desktop environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult to say what the downsides are. At one point my subscription billing was run through apple via the app store/itunes. When there was a billing error due to change of cards, there was no way to get the product active through Apple or Dropbox despite payment, nor a way to switch to direct billing. This was really just an annoying couple hours of phone calls but really didn't have to deal with the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For whatever reason, the only option above is "cloud content collaboration". Yes I use Dropbox for this but largely I replaced my Documents folder with it for all my client work, business files, proposals and important personal/non-commercial creative work both collaborative and solo. It's backup but better. Just a guarantee that no matter how often (or not) I backup my Mac properly, all my most dear work over the last ~7 years is safe just by hitting cmd-s. And equally important, if my main Mac is down I can be up on a backup or borrowed system in five minutes, or I'm away or just want to pull up files to show someone online, no matter where, I can do it by logging in or pulling up a folder on my iPhone.

DropBox has been the most reliable cloud storage for me

  • December 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that multiple computers can sync the same data and there fee occasions or chance where the data will be out of sync between those machines.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the plans were enormously sized with business level pricing. I use Dropbox for simple local file storage but I also pay for server based storage plans from places like Amazon S3 and Google Cloud. I have to use 3rd party software like CloudBerry to simulate an easily mountable local drive, so this is complicated to most people but for my daily work I have 46TB of local storage so I need a full backup of that I can easily copy the same amount to. In this case the replication to other computers is overhead and not the style of large cheap storage for backup I am using for actual work projects such as video processing and Hard drive clones of customer machines.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Simple data sharing with friends and family on a small scale, it's easy and quick and works cross platform/phone

Take your file cabinet with you anywhere!

  • December 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox gives me the ability to do mortgages in a tent underneath the stars in the Grab Canyon or while on a cruise in the Mediterranean.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like paying for it, but I can't fit my file cabinet in my suitcase, and it's way too heavy to carry more than two feet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I need to access multiple documents from multiple clients multiple times a day and I need to access them fast and from anywhere. I need to access them on my phone while I'm talking on the phone. I can't do that without Dropbox.

A great cloud backup solution

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is a great solution for cloud backup and access from anywhere. The iPhone app makes it super easy to access your important files on the go. The sharing options are super convenient for sharing large files and collaborating on backup folders and exchanging files. I save and backup a lot of large media files on it that I need to send and store. As well as important documents I want to be accessible from anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had a better video and audio file player. The player isn't very convenient for playing multiple music files stored inside in folders for instance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sending and sharing large files or file folders. Storing large libraries of media files.

It is blocked from many office networks and categorized as unsafe for any cyber security attacks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used to collaborate with my peers for many freelancing works, and trip partners, as well as to share photos with distant relatives for over 10 years now. Unfortunately, it is marked as unsafe for any office network that I have been part of.

Convenient Cloud Storage

  • December 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox makes it easy to store files, photos, and videos using a mobile, desktop, or laptop. It's compatible with Windows and Mac. The large storage capacity alleviates my overloading my phone and computer's hard drives. I use it for all my files, family photos, sentimental items, and vlogs.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the the price was lower but it's comparable to other cloud storage services
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a social media content creator so I need tons of storage on my phone to record. Also, I love taking photos. My phone runs out of storage so I use Dropbox to backup my vlogs and photos. Additionally, I've recently decided to convert all my files to digital to reduce paper clutter. With Dropbox Paper feature it makes scanning my files from my phone easy and convenient. I don't need an external scanner although Dropbox app is compatible with my Cannon scanner.
