All my files at my fingertips, thanks to Dropbox

  • June 16, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox has made life easier by keeping files synchronized across devices. This convenience saves me time and eliminates the hassle of manually transferring files. he effortless synchronization, coupled with Dropbox's user-friendly interface, has significantly enhanced my productivity and collaboration efforts. The ability to easily share files, access version history, and work seamlessly across different platforms has transformed the way I collaborate with colleagues and clients. Dropbox has become an indispensable tool, streamlining my workflow and empowering me to achieve more in less time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have found that while Dropbox offers the ability to access files offline, I have encountered some challenges with syncing files for offline use. There have been instances where I found the process to be a bit cumbersome, especially when dealing with larger files or complex projects. This would be particularly beneficial when internet connectivity is limited or unavailable, allowing seamless access to important files without any unnecessary hurdles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making all my files available to me irrespective of the device I'm using helps me save a lot of time and seemlessly share my files with other collaborators. The ability to easily revert to previous versions or restore deleted files has come to my rescue numerous times which has helped me save time.

Great data storage system!

  • June 07, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is the best globally accessible data storage system. You can use it on any device, even offline, if you've already viewed the files before. You're allotted 2 GB as data space to add files from any device. Dropbox is a suitable way of transferring files between two devices by uploading from one device and downloading on another. If you want to send a file or multiple to another user, you can either send them individually using their respective URLs or move them to a folder and send the entire folder as a .zip file. Dropbox is user-friendly, with easy means of managing files. You can schedule automated activities, such as backups, encapsulation into compressed folders, organizing files, etc. One of the best features of Dropbox is editing the data inside files on the cloud. You can edit the files yourself or authorize other users to edit them together. You can also add or sync files from Google Drive if you move from one storage platform to another.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox's capabilities in storage, collaboration, and integrations are endless. I've yet to find any fault with it in my daily usage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company uses Dropbox for all cloud sharing and data backups. My colleagues and I rely on it for everyday work activities that involve file sharing and editing them as a unit simultaneously. The benefit of Dropbox is that it automatically saves all the edits every few seconds, so we can rest assured that there's no loss of data if the computer shuts down unexpectedly. We can also review previous editions and revert any unwanted edits. Dropbox works best for sending files larger than 5 MB as they upload seamlessly compared to apps like Zoom and Skype. The scheduled backups also allow us to sync our files, making it convenient to share and access them on the cloud via shared folders. Dropbox's automation is so efficient that we don't manually upload files to Dropbox anymore. We move them to the Dropbox folder on the desktop, and they get uploaded automatically once the device sync and backup settings are configured. These features help us immensely during our remote work every day.

What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit more expensive than some other cloud storage tools and apps but the benefit outweighs the higher prices so I gladly pay the higher price to use all the benefits it is offering.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accessibility to my files, documents, and movies from anywhere and at any time. It also helps with sharing files with my team or just a link to a file, document, or a movie as one-off.

Best software to organize all your files and projects in one place

  • April 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is an excellent cloud platform for storing, organizing, and collaborating. Thanks to Dropbox's all-device support, you can store files for as long as you want, which you can upload from any device. Dropbox allows file-sharing in two ways: email and URL. You can take control of your storage and organize your files to find anything at will using folders quickly. Folders as a whole can also be shared, which you can download as a compressed file. You can request files, where you can enter the user's email, and they'll be able to send you the file directly via Dropbox. Dropbox also allows you to view files of any type. You can preview images, play videos, and view the data inside text files, spreadsheets, documents, etc. You can also edit the spreadsheets using Excel for Web. If you've made your folders viewable for other users, they can join you in editing the files in those folders, or you can invite them to edit individual files. If you have Dropbox installed on your portable devices, you can view your files offline. When you open a file for the first time, Dropbox on mobile phones automatically downloads the data for them so you can open them quickly the next time. The same feature allows downloading files without an internet connection if you've already viewed them. This feature is handy when your internet connection is limited or intermittent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Other than getting only 2GB for file storage, I don't dislike anything about Dropbox or its features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since we work remotely, we were initially limited in file sharing and collaborating. Dropbox solved these problems as it's a free-to-use platform with multiple features to make it convenient for cloud computing and project collaboration. It also systematically backs up important information, so there's always a secondary copy if the primary one is lost or changed beyond repair. We can use Dropbox anywhere, which is a massive plus as our files are available to us everywhere. It has also lessened the need to store documents, sheets, and code files on a local device since they're very lightweight. We keep them on Dropbox, allowing everyone to edit the files to implement the necessary changes. With Dropbox's support for Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc., we can easily create new files from scratch and work on them in collaboration.

Dropbox ix great!

  • April 24, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The thing about dropbox is that it's super easy to use and quick. If you're new to using FTP sites and looking for a great and easy one to use, use dropbox as it's also free too.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I like least about Dropbox is that it doesn't allow more than 10 gbs sometimes I have graphics or video files that need more space, so I have to use something different or a paid account.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I hope they are solving the more space issues for free accounts as this is a bit of a pain, but a paid account is not much more $$$ so it's better to have a company that you work for pay for a paid account.

Unraveling Dropbox: A Comprehensive Review of the Most Popular Cloud Storage Platform

  • April 19, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I absolutely love how easy it is to use Dropbox! It's so reliable and works seamlessly across all my devices, which is a huge plus for me. I also really appreciate how well it integrates with other productivity tools I use, like Microsoft Office and Google Docs. Being able to share and collaborate on files with others in real-time has been a game-changer for my team's workflow. Overall, Dropbox has been a great solution for my cloud storage needs!
What do you dislike about the product?
While I appreciate the overall functionality of Dropbox, one thing that has bothered me in the past is the pricing. I find that the cost can be a bit high, especially for the higher tiers that offer more storage space. Additionally, there have been some concerns about security and privacy with cloud storage in general, and although Dropbox has made efforts to address these concerns, it's something that still makes me a bit wary. However, despite these drawbacks, I still find Dropbox to be a valuable tool for my storage and collaboration needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is solving the problem of having all my important files and documents spread out across different devices and platforms. By providing a reliable and easy-to-use cloud storage solution, I can now access all my files in one central location, which has been a huge time saver for me. While I do have some concerns about the limitations of file sharing with non-subscribers, overall I find the sharing and collaboration features to be very useful. The ability to quickly and easily share files with others has made working with my team much more efficient. In short, Dropbox has been a great solution for me in terms of organization, convenience, and collaboration.

Excellent storage and file transfer

  • April 01, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Dropbox is straightforward, allowing you to upload files by dragging them to the homepage. You can create folders to organize your storage better and set up the automation to organize your files for you automatically. With 2GB of initial space, you can store many files you don't want to lose and maintain them on Dropbox forever. You can find and download your files on other devices after logging in, making Dropbox an excellent way to work while you're on the go and retain all your work information. Dropbox makes files shareable through links that you can send to people. You can also create a list of people to invite to edit and download your files after moving them to a designated folder you mark as Shared. You can collaborate seamlessly through Dropbox this way. You can create new documents, Excel sheets, presentations, and more using Dropbox. You can invite people to work on them with you to collaborate efficiently. All new files you create are saved on Dropbox by default, similar to Google Drive. You can create scheduled backups with Dropbox for important files if you're worried about losing them.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing wrong with Dropbox, per se. It works perfectly for stage, sharing, backups, and content creation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dropbox is an excellent medium that lets my team and me share files easily. Its large storage capacity and cross-platform feature make it easier to send files across any device and collaborate with people quickly. You can make your files shareable by generating links and choosing who to share them with. Shared folders make this more convenient as the authorized users can view all the files in them, saving you time manually sharing the links. Dropbox can be used on the browser, making your storage accessible anywhere on any device if you cannot download the app. Any changes made to your files on Dropbox are easily reversible as Dropbox creates copies of the file for every change instead of overwriting. So, you can revert to a previous edition of the file if you wish to undo any edits. We use Dropbox to create documents, Excel sheets, presentations, etc., over the cloud, which Dropbox automatically saves to your storage. So, this saves the need to screen-share any content while collaborating, as anyone with access can view and edit the file themselves.

Best tool for exchanging non confidential data with external users.

  • March 28, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI, ease of configuration, and access.
What do you dislike about the product?
Dropbox should look at options for storing the shared data for a longer period of time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Limited ways for exchanging data with external users. Since this is a common tool, it is easier to access from your personal account and sharing data externally. (only non confidential data)
