  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy the enrollment process for new computers. It's simple and powerful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The webUI feels unintuitive sometimes. The search function is strange.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Linking machine to user, bricking stolen computers, pushing updates, pushing applications
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take time setting it up right the first time

JAMF Makes Mac Management Easy

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the new Patch Management functionality. Students can easily keep their Chrome/Flash and other software automatically updated without having to create new packages for every release.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike is not having an option to send an inventory update to Macbooks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I wouldn't say we have any business problems, since we are a school district, but inventory management and students being able to install their own software is a huge perk.

My right hand for iPads

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Great customer service when attempting to figure out iPad glitches. Friendly user interface to perform the different tasks and functions I need to do.
What do you dislike about the product?
not being able to use the unlock feature for all the iPads (to clarify on this, I was informed that the unlock feature would only work on iPads that had been enrolled into Jamf Pro with 11.4.1 which excluded even the brand new iPads that were shipped in). At times, Apple and Jamf have some communication issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefit of having Jamf Pro is that it allows me to create configuration profiles for our school district iPads, set restrictions and isolate difficult iPads when necessary. Customer service has contacted me fairly quickly when there have been issues or when I need to verify that modifying groups or profiles will work fine with the system. Recent issues and projects that I have worked with Jamf on are putting 6000 iPads into two prestage groups and then assigning them to school locations through static groups. Jamf was there testing with me to ensure this wouldn't cause any problems.

Jamf pro for the end user

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The information that can be gathered from the devices, and the ability to send out a multitude of different configuration profiles.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software could be more efficient, having to navigate to multiple different pages to see different information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1:1 ipad use in a school district is easy with Jamf pro, we can deploy 1000 or more ipads with ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Honestly, jamf pro is the best MDM I have seen so far when it comes to Osx and iOs management.

Mac management is a breeze with Jamf Pro

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf has so many pros it is hard to say what I like best. I love the ease of management of devices and I love the leverage I get using static and smart groups into my policies and app assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
The new interface has taken a little bit of time to get used to however most of the changes have been for the better
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro is like having a few extra technicians to do my dirty work. The benefit is that it doesn't take lunch breaks or vacations and can work 24/7 to make improvements to my deployment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do be afraid of the cost. There are other lower cost solutions out there but they pale in comparison to what Jamf has to offer.

    Information Services

Jamf Pro=Life Saver

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Centralized location for everything that I need to successfully manage my clients' Macs and iStuff. It's amazing to be able to have one single place to ensure that apps are being installed, configuration profiles are being applied, new hardware is automatically enrolling, and my users are empowered to install software and run maintenance scripts on their own through Self Service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some UI description wordings are poorly written and lead to confusion. Mobile UI has come a long way but is not easy to navigate on iPhone. Some fields are completely inaccessible due to screen resizing issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Compliance is huge. Being able to report across all company owned computers and remedying any that are out of compliance (security settings, app updates, OS updates).

Apple management headaches? No more with Jamf Pro!

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Quite simply, the ability to have almost no touch on any of my device deployments but still deliver a white glove treatment to my end users. I used to spend hours writing scripts and pushing via ARD, but now I can create policies and packages within Jamf Pro and forget about it.
Integrating with Intune also helps, as I can now see all of my devices in a single pane of glass.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Jumpstart cots is a little steep and required. You do receive a lot of hands-on support with an Integrator, but it's not what I'm used to as a SME with other products.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Device deployment and management. Cutting down the amount of time it takes to roll a new device out to my end users.
Additionally, patch management. Before I had to beg and plead with users to make sure they have everything up to date on their Macs. Now, I can force updates and even OS upgrades.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
More attention to configuration profiles

Jamf Pro Review

  • September 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to give all of my users the Apple experience while still being able to manage that experience in compliance with our IT policies.
What do you dislike about the product?
As I am not a full Jamf Admin, only a Site admin, there are management areas that I would like to explore, but due to the nature of our Jamf Pro Server I am not able to. I wish it were more sandboxed like AD in that regards.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Deployment, access to applications, letting users feel like they are in control of their machine but having the ability to monitor things should they attempt to take advantage of the freedom.
