Working with Outsystems

Intuitive suggestions are given at the time of the development of the application. AI-based development assistance gives an immense boost in productivity, which helps a developer.
What do you dislike about the product?
Grid tables data is not that great as compared to .NET grid tables. It doesnt provide dynamics capabilities to alter and create custom grid , as well each and every cell cannot be identified easily.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Web-based systems, banking portals, insurance partners portals, insurance or credit simulators (which are subject to rapid and constant compliance changes).
Integration between different systems, it's really fast to deploy a webservice API.

The Sales hub has a dashboard, tasks, and corresponding applications are also built in with their respective plugins. Also a SalesHub module workflow is included as a flow-chart logic to mirror around for processes. Applications can be built quickly with AI-based Learning
What do you dislike about the product?
When we work with a cloud platform consolidating some of the activities in here may take some work in case we have to re-rinse the activities to the cloud. That could be the only disadvantage.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are looking to integrate data from Cloud, API based data-stores, infrastructure level data along with enabling integration. This would be able to allow for collaborative development or a CI/CD processes.
Changed my mindset
What do you like best about the product?
Outsytems changed the way I faced programming. No more infinite hours spent on building functions or frontends from zero. With this platform, I was able to deploy an application to end-users in about three months (alone, self-teaching).
What do you dislike about the product?
Licensing modes. I believe that the cost of Outsystems licensing is too expensive for small businesses that can't afford these prices. Maybe a "small business" licensing with only 2 environments would be an improvement for this sort of companies.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Extensive data integration for a country-wide company with millions of lines integrated every day. With BPT we were able to incorporate this amount of information with ease.

Go to market time will cut down to half
What do you like best about the product?
Outsystems is a low code platform but we had used OutSystems to develop very very complex software and the best thing was that it only took us half of that time if we would not have used it. When using the OutSystems, we can be sure that development time will be cut in half and will improve the go-to-market strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing. For someone who owns a small business, it's very hard to afford the OutSystems as it's costly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We build multiple business-facing applications for other business units in the organization.

OutSystems, It's almost too good
What do you like best about the product?
The graphical user interface makes it a great platform for both novice and seasoned developers, with pleasantly balanced IDE visuals making it a pleasure to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main issue would be its reliance on the Windows OS. While not a deal-breaker, it alienates those who prefer a less mainstream OS for daily use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Main issues being addressed:
1. The platform allowed seamless integration of data from multiple sources into a simple yet straightforward user interface
2. Fast integration of new business "products" to existing applications
3. The cloud-based nature of the platform gave the organization a more flexible solution, allowing developers to work from anywhere at any time. Additionally, being cloud-based it removed the need for any on-premise infrastructure reducing overall administration costs.
The platform benefits would be as follows:
1. Fast turnover of new applications
2. Easy troubleshooting using the built-in debugger
3. cloud-based, allowing access from anywhere with internet access

Recommendations to others considering the product:
The OutSystems IDE was developed primarily for use on the windows OS. that being said, support for Linux and OSX would be experimental where available. Outsystems support do advocate the use of virtualization software for running on other Operating Systems when needed
Great enterprise low-code platform
What do you like best about the product?
- Good low-code platform with a low learning curve. It's easy to start being productive as a complete novice programmer.
- Interactive training, guided paths, and courses cover most typical use cases.
- One-click deployment and excellent application for development.
- Strong community and good repository of reusable open code modules, connectors, UI components, and business solutions.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Still no dark mode in Service Studio, but I think that would come soon™
- CSS customization and js library management could be better.
- Some components do not work correctly in a few situations, like table inside another table.
- Reactive apps have no integrated pdf export solution.
- Validation becomes hard when using Web Blocks and/or reusable validation rules.
- Debugging is a bit tricky and isn't possible to debug an extension in a cloud environment.
I think that the fast road is not always the best, in some cases low code is not the solution.
