My Daily Go-To for Catching Grammar Mistakes in User Stories

  • March 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Grammarly is my daily solution for the grammar mistakes I make while writing user stories for my developers. The floating widget shows how many mistakes are in the story and helps me correct them.
What do you dislike about the product?
When I’m writing long paragraphs, it sometimes takes a while for the suggestions to appear, and I think this could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously, I was writing user stories without Grammarly, and they had many spelling mistakes in them. I started using Grammarly after listening to my friends’ suggestions, and from then on, my life has changed. I write large user stories daily, and spelling/typo mistakes could have cost a lot in my projects over time—in money, time, and resources. But now, with Grammarly’s simple floating widget, everything is solved. It helps a lot in day-to-day writing work by catching spelling mistakes and typos. There are no more doubts and queries from my developers due to spelling mistakes.

Excellent writing partner, easy and impactful

  • March 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The feature I like the most about Grammarly is that it comes as an extension. It pinpoints and tells me anywhere in any text while typing that the text is misaligned here. It gives me a red mark where the text is misaligned or doesn't make sense. Then I can just click on it to see what I should use. I really like this because it corrects my text wherever I type.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there is one thing that needs improvement, which is the green dot, as it slightly obstructs when writing something. Instead, while typing, there should be a pin pointer above the extension indicating that grammar skills are active. And when you finish typing, it should show a red or green line, which you can click to correct the text. That green dot sometimes appears above the text, which causes a slight obstruction.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grammarly helps me with grammar mistakes, punctuation errors, and reframing sentences, allowing me to improve emails, documentation, and messages.

Real-Time Tone Adaptation That Makes Technical Writing Clear and Effortless

  • March 28, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What stands out most to me about Grammarly is how it adapts tone in real time, especially in Gmail threads with researchers and external partners. I can take a dense, technical update (for example, on mariculture permitting or hatchery outputs) and quickly shift it into a more accessible version for non-technical stakeholders without having to rewrite everything from scratch; the suggestions refresh almost instantly as I edit. I’ve been using it daily for about eight months, mainly in Chrome and Edge, and the interface felt intuitive from day one. In regular use, it does a good job picking up context, catching things like subject–verb agreement in long sentences and flagging vague phrasing in project summaries. The AI rewrite tool is practical, I’ll highlight a paragraph in a proposal draft and cycle through a few alternatives until one matches the tone I need. I also use the similarity checker before sharing external-facing documents. Overall, it feels like an always-on editor that stays out of the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
With very long documents—like 40-page grant proposals or technical reports—I do notice CPU spikes that lead to lag. This is especially noticeable when I have multiple tabs open alongside Excel models and email, since it can slow down scrolling and make editing feel less responsive. Also, when I’ve reached out to support, the replies have sometimes felt generic rather than tailored to the specific issue I was dealing with.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Grammarly, translating technical language for different audiences (faculty, industry partners, policymakers) took multiple back-and-forth revisions and slowed approvals. Now we can simplify dense sections earlier, and I’d estimate revisions are down by about 30 percent in proposals and reports. It’s also reduced repetitive line edits, what used to take several passes is often handled in one review. Day to day, I rely on the rewrite suggestions to respond to emails and finalize reports faster, with clearer structure, which has helped keep projects moving.

Instant Tone Control and Strong Grammar Suggestions

  • March 27, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It helps me instantly set the tone of my text, whether I want it to sound assertive, formal, or casual. The spell-check feature, along with suggestions for using the right prepositions and conjunctions, goes a long way toward helping me create grammatically correct writing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are only available in the paid versions. For example, if I want to set the tone more precisely, I have to pay for the premium option, and that pricing may not be acceptable to many people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me better communicate complex thoughts in layman terms

Effortless Writing Enhancement and Real-Time Feedback

  • March 27, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Grammarly because of its real-time suggestions; you don't have to check anything manually as it just works as you type. The instant grammar, spelling, and punctuation fixes are really helpful. It often suggests simpler ways to say things, making my writing easier to read. Setting it up was super easy, and it fits seamlessly into my workflow with tools like Gmail, Slack, LinkedIn messages, and Google Docs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Grammarly is strong but there are definitely a few things that don't work very well. Sometimes it over-simplifies my writing, which removes personality and nuance. It doesn't always get what I'm trying to say. Additionally, the tone detection is helpful but not perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Grammarly helps me identify ignored spelling and grammatical errors, offers real-time suggestions, and suggests simpler ways to express myself, making writing easier to read.

Smart Writing Assistant That Saves Time

  • March 27, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like most about Grammarly is how seamlessly it fits into my everyday writing without getting in the way. It’s not only about catching basic grammar and spelling mistakes—it also helps improve clarity and tone, which makes a real difference when I’m writing emails, documents, or even casual messages.

The newer AI features are a strong addition, too. They feel more like a writing assistant than just a correction tool, helping me rephrase sentences, adjust tone, and sometimes even organize my ideas better when I’m stuck. Overall, it saves me time and makes my writing feel more polished without requiring much extra effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I don’t particularly like about Grammarly is that it can sometimes feel a bit too eager with suggestions, especially when it comes to tone or style changes. Not every recommendation matches what I originally meant, so I still have to go through them carefully rather than just accepting everything automatically.

Also, while the newer AI features can be helpful, they sometimes come across as a little generic or less natural—especially for more nuanced, context-specific writing. And in a professional or organizational setting, it isn’t always straightforward to integrate or justify using it, which ultimately limits how often I rely on it as part of my workflow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Grammarly, I used to spend a noticeable amount of time re-reading and manually editing my writing — especially emails, reports, or any professional communication where tone and clarity matter. Even then, there was always some uncertainty around whether the message sounded polished enough or could be misinterpreted.

Grammarly solves this by acting as a real-time writing assistant. It not only catches grammar and spelling issues but also improves sentence clarity, tone, and overall readability. The UI is very intuitive and works smoothly across platforms (browser, docs, etc.), so it doesn’t interrupt the workflow.

The newer AI features add another layer of value — helping rephrase sentences, adjust tone (more formal, concise, etc.), and even unblock you when you're unsure how to phrase something. It’s especially useful when switching between different writing contexts.

In terms of impact, it has reduced the time I spend editing by roughly 30–40% for most writing tasks and increased confidence in communication quality. It also helps maintain consistency in tone, which is important in professional settings.

That said, I haven’t fully integrated it into my organizational workflow due to tool restrictions, but for personal use, the ROI is clear in terms of time saved and improved writing quality.

There’s nothing I can say that I dislike about Grammarly. It has been helpful for me, especially since I work in sales.
