AI agents have transformed how we compare offers and standardize complex project documents
What is our primary use case?
Glean Platform is currently being used primarily to focus on employee productivity. It is used for finding information, doing document comparisons, and educating our customers. For example, a banking customer selling credit card or loan solutions can compare and contrast two different credit card offers and find information quickly to serve customers better.
Glean Platform helps our teams and customers compare credit card offers or find information quickly by creating an agent for a particular set of data. This agent helps either a seller or myself to find information, upload two different credit card options or documents, and compare and contrast the differences very quickly within minutes rather than reading both PDFs and taking notes to explain to a customer. This improves productivity and saves time.
Our team uses Glean Platform primarily to find information quickly, do comparisons, and build agents across our own data. For example, we work on a lot of infrastructure builds with bill of materials for certain customers. Glean Platform helps us find and standardize the SKUs and standardize the SOW, or if the scope is the same across multiple projects in multiple countries, it helps us build a scope of work document across multiple projects in a couple of hours rather than doing manual effort.
What is most valuable?
Glean Platform offers several best features, including permission awareness, which is a very important security aspect. When you create an agent, the LLMs improve every three to six months, so Glean provides the flexibility to choose the large language model that is good at that given point in time. This flexibility allows me to have over 15 LLM models where a user can pick and choose whichever is best at that point.
Glean Platform's knowledge graph is excellent, integrating into the browser and giving a similar Google search feature look and feel, which is lightweight. Another important feature is the data connectors. All other agentic platforms have limited connections. For example, Copilot works well with the Microsoft suite but not on other integrations. Glean Platform provides over 100 connectors out of the box, which helps us and our customers reap the benefits of whatever information and investments customers make.
Glean Platform has positively impacted our organization, especially in terms of productivity for both us and our customers. Productivity has improved significantly with Glean Platform. The time saved for finding information and for comparing and contrasting definitely saves at least one to one and a half hours on average daily.
What needs improvement?
I did not find anything for Glean Platform that needs improvement. Although Glean is a single tenant architecture, customers might ask for an on-premise Glean Platform. I have not noticed much in terms of needed improvements. I think it is good for the productivity side, and whatever Glean Platform is doing is sufficient for now.
For how long have I used the solution?
It has been almost two years for us using Glean Platform.
What do I think about the stability of the solution?
Glean Platform is very stable, as far as I can tell.
What do I think about the scalability of the solution?
Glean Platform's scalability is decent because it is a public cloud, and we have not encountered any issues.
Which solution did I use previously and why did I switch?
I have not switched from a different solution, but we were using both our own internal platform and Copilot along with Glean Platform. It depends on the type of task I want to accomplish. Before choosing Glean Platform, I evaluated other options, specifically Microsoft Copilot.
What was our ROI?
I have already mentioned that we save one to one and a half hours daily, which reflects our return on investment.
What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?
My experience with the pricing, setup cost, and licensing has been fair. I do not think when you compare it with platforms available in the market, the price versus features versus whatever Glean Platform is offering is decent.
What other advice do I have?
I would rate Glean Platform a nine out of ten. I chose nine because customers do expect on-premise options, so that is why I did not give it a perfect ten. Currently, Glean Platform is deployed in our organization on a public cloud. We are using Google as our cloud provider, and by default, we are using the default Glean Platform which is on Google. The overall review rating for Glean Platform is nine.

Glean
What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Glean is how seamlessly it helps me find and access information across all my workplace apps. It saves time, reduces duplicated work, and makes collaboration more efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the search results can be a bit too broad, and it takes a few extra steps to find the most relevant information. More advanced filtering options could improve the experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Glean helps solve the problem of wasting time searching for information across multiple tools and platforms. As someone in sales, I need quick access to the latest product info, pricing, and customer data. Glean consolidates all that in one place, so I can find answers fast, respond to prospects more effectively, and focus on closing deals instead of digging through files.
Connecting Search and RAG AI to elevate Knowledge Management and Productivity
What do you like best about the product?
The overall focus of Glean is more accutely focused on the user 'get in and get done', recognizing that search is not a destination, but a means to what the user really wants... the answer. Go links for short urls and quick recognition/recall, collections to create logical grouping and drive ownership and good points for data owners to currate content.
The verification system is another offering that demonstrates the understanding that as we move foward with knowledge management and AI, garbage in IS garbage out and companies need to address it with easy to manage and use user interfaces that favor clarity and ease (again, lets make life easy for users to encourage useful and frequent updates)
AI Apps are a game changer, the best company SME (Subject Matter Experts) are constrained on time and access so building an app that your best can keep updated and fed means your users can always have an SMA (Subject Matter AI/Assistant) on point and ready 24x7.
The support staff is engaged and interested in helping to build a better experience, while doing their best to help us understand where things are headed and why they are the way they are.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search would be improved with greater sorting capabilities, right now relevance (which is not clear to the user) is the main factor but it would be a relative easy addition to allow users to SORT BY date (Z-A or A-Z)
People, while hooked to identity management lacks some flexibility in manual overrides to deal with some user situations with off shore, contractors etc leading to some odd results or missing context
Generative AI is still new and transforming at speed and scale. Keeping up with that pace of change is a significant challenge. Glean seems to struggle with completeness vs accuracy as the development team works out how to contend with how much data the backend LLMs can accept and not miss context or material.
Analytics is a little inflexible but nothing that cant be fixed in the UI. Though you can download the CSV file and slice and dice however you wish, simply setting date ranges and getting clearer indicators that could help drive adoption or be useful reports to more easily email to department leads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge discovery and enablement which unlocks producitivity. With an active statistic showing that users spend almost 2 hours of a normal day simpling looking for the information and personnel they need to get work done, anything we can do to reduce that time puts users back to producitive work or provides greater opportunity for work/life balance.
