Budget Endpoint Manager that does a decent job patching for Windows updates and 3rd party apps

  • March 07, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
EndPoint Central does a great job of capturing updates for a variety of 3rd party apps out of the box. In addition this, the built in functionality in evaluating a single node, such as event viewers, software lists, or the ability to remote in or run powershell from behind the scenes is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
EndPoint Central support is very email/chat based with a lot of standard copy/paste requests for information. Phone support is pretty hard to come by. A lot of support calls have resulted in learning that a product feature is not working properly or that it will be fixed in an upcoming release. The product is getting a lot better but I just wish the company would be more forward about current outstanding issues and that support was more aware of these.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
EndPoint Central provides a holistic view into the environment - given that the agent is installed on all nodes to be included. EndPoint Central does a decent job patching both OS updates and 3rd party apps. It also has some pretty good built in reporting.

Making IT friendly with ManageEngine Endpoint Central

  • March 04, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I worked with ManageEngine Endpoint Central in my previous company and the thing I noticed most about it was that it had a whole lot of features for endpoint management, especially its patch management and asset management modules. Updating and protecting all endpoints was made easier by the patch management module which allowed for automatic installation of patches, an important part of today’s security landscape. It also provided information on software inventory to assist in managing assets better. The interface is friendly to users making it possible for different IT teams to use it easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
However, the biggest challenge was that it appeared somewhat complex initially. Too many features and options made it difficult for me to understand. Also, the mobile device management section needed clearer guides or manuals since it seemed a bit clumsy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We benefited greatly from using this app in terms of securing our gadgets and efficiently managing IT infrastructure. Now, when I started another job, I found it just as useful as before. It is good at giving an overview of everything we have in place for all of our devices so that they are running nicely without any issues related to security. Through this means our IT tasks have become less daunting while some potential problems are avoided.
