Quality user experience and easy administration
What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace is a platform that allows for the creation of very efficient learning experiences that are also pleasant and engaging for students. Additionally, its administration is easy and allows for a significant number of customizations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I realize that it would be important to implement improvements with Gen AI, and also offer resources, such as completion tracking, in a simple and easy way for all users, allowing it to be easy to see on the course homepage widget card whether the content of the offer is completed or if there are still more activities to be done. I also believe that the option to export some reports in PDF, such as class progress, and evaluation and survey charts, would be alternative methods highly appreciated by customers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By presenting and implementing D2L with the clients I serve in my consultancy, we are able to speed up the implementation, facilitate management, and create visual and navigation experiences that excite users, while at the same time reassuring administrators about what is being done.
D2L Brightspace is a robust LMS, allowing us to work with multiple institutions simultaneously.
What do you like best about the product?
It has a great user experience and a very powerful toolkit. It works very well even when implemented in several institutions at the same time and within the same domain.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has many ways of getting to the same functionality or performing actions, which can cause confusion in some cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
D2L Brightspace allows me to work with several educational institutions at the same time and within the same domain, which helps me with the versatility of the whole operation.

Brightspace’s bulk copy tool lacks a date-setting option, which complicates course creation for administrators.

Support and prompt service, the platform brings many innovative features and is always present in the college's scope, striving for improvements. Functional platform, perfect indentation, providing ease of use.

What do you like best about the product?
I've been working with D2L since 2012, and during this journey I've faced some challenges that I only overcomed due D2L partnership and support in many areas.
One of this chalenfes was the content migration from our legacy custom CMS, migrating the content from Flash to HTML5 objects, and D2L was able to support and remediate any issue on the fly.
Also, the hability to scale. In Pandemic, we had the challenge to migrate hundreds of thousand users from offline to online and we did it in a couple weeks.
Also, we rolled out some new courses from scratch in 2 weeks, from idea to deliver!

What do you dislike about the product?
We faced some issues with integrations with third party systems during the years, the learning curve is too steep in some points, only using the documentation, we had to raise some tickets for some doubts.
Some design decisions affected duplication of content due the logic used, that wasn't the best one.
Perhaps some success case templates to guide during course creations might help.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The scale we have in our business has ruined some other solutions, but D2L was able to handle the load without any issues, the users accessed and consumed the content without any problem, and very fast.

API documentation is very clean and fluid. Successful integrations.

The reports section of BONGO could be part of the package.

My experience with D2L
What do you like best about the product?
In addition to the solutions provided by D2L, I believe it is important to highlight the quality of support and service, which I consider essential. As a client, I feel extremely secure and comfortable knowing that my ideas, concerns, suggestions, and questions, whether technical or not, are always heard and analyzed with attention. This level of support is fundamental for a successful strategic partnership, and D2L manages to offer this in an exceptional manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The solutions are good and when necessary, the support is very agile and assertive. I can't think of anything that displeases me.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Currently, D2L primarily supports us with its LMS solution, which will be the foundation for my innovation projects in the LLF area. In addition to the traditional functionalities of an LMS, D2L stands out by offering us support for innovative initiatives, such as the implementation of digital micro-certifications in a native and easy way.

I love how robust the platform is. My 40k students never complain about instabilities.

I truly believe the support could be faster.

It is providing my students with an environment for them to study and interact.

What do you like best about the product?
It's always up! You can count on accessing it at any time 24/7 with no problem of being offline. Also, with LTI 1.3 it's easy to integrate tools into it, and the customer support is always present when we need it. It's also easily implemented. I use it almost everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing for now I dislike on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're having Brightspace as our main LMS partner, helping our clients to solve their main gaps on giving their students a robust LMS.
