If you wish to cancel your Services, D2L will offer you a complete refund when you cancel your Services within 48 hours after payment in the AWS Marketplace (the "Refund Period"). Thereafter, D2L does not offer refunds. To cancel your service and request a refund, you must contact AWS Marketplace customer support. Except as otherwise explicitly indicated by D2L, all fees hereunder are non-cancelable and non-refundable.

What do you like best about the product?
I think for me, I really enjoy the ease of use in terms of the administrator features of the LMS. I can easily configure the system, set up course templates, create organizational structures that make sense for my institution, support easy implementation of IPSIS and other systems used for enrollment and course scheduling. Plus, the accessibility of D2L is top-notch, and support a lot of third-party add-ons that benefit all students/users in terms of being accessible and universally designed.
I also feel that the UI of D2L is fantastic from a student or faculty perspective. While each tool is separate, they all link together easily and are fun to use.
D2L can easily be integrated with many SSO options, and supports OAuth 2.0 and other industry standards.
I think it is a great product, and should be considered for any institution's LMS needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
In the past D2L has not been the best at addressing some of the suggested improvements and enhancements that its users have wanted. To the extent that some users joke their Product Idea Exchange (PIE) forum, was a place where ideas went to die. Or they said, "send that idea to the PIE in the sky, where it won't fly".
Lately though, they have been making vast improvements in the LMS in ways that address several issues and suggestions that have been brought up over the years.
Such as the print quiz feature (August 2025 update), that even accounts for creating randomized question sets in the tests, and allowing you to create multiple versions. We only wanted the ability to print quiz questions, and D2L decided to give us that and some amazing features as well.
D2L does try to innovate, which is great, however sometimes their endeavors at innovation tend to be half-baked and can be underwhelming. I am mainly referring to some of their side projects or extra packages, not the base LMS itself.
But, that is something they have been working on as well.

Brightspace Makes Being an Administrator Easy

What do you like best about the product?
Brightspace simplifies being an administrator. It is easy to find what I need, there is plenty of documentation, and a wide support network for assistance. Customer support is quick to respond and offers great help.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downsides are similar to other available LMS. Integrations can be difficult to work with, and the feed from banner can sometimes run into issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed an LMS to support our Faculty and students. Brightspace does that and more, it provides the tools necessary for their success.

What do you like best about the product?
You can do anything you can imagine in D2L. Faculty can easily deliver high-quality content, create engaging asynchronous learning activities, monitor student progress, automate outreach, personalize learning pathways, provide frequent feedback, facilitate group assignments, administer tests and quizzes, and get the data they need to inform their instruction. D2L is very receptive to customer feedback and requests and is always launching improvements and new features that just keep making it easier to create beautiful, engaging, and effective learning experiences.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has not been possible to copy modules and push course templates, but I think CreateSpace will help with that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Providing an online learning environment for our faculty and students

D2L Brightspace is a well-known learning platform that is user-friendly and equipped with valuable features. It provides excellent support while emphasizing accessibility and continuous improvements, making it an ideal option for online education.

Navigation can be difficult for new users. There are multiple pathways to the same information, and this can lead to confusion with some students.

What do you like best about the product?
I use D2L Brightspace daily in three main capacities within higher education: Student Support Specialist: regular engagement to assist students with technical and course-related issues. Adjunct Instructor: Manage course materials, communicate with students, grade assignments, and facilitate online and blended classes. Former Online Graduate Student: Completed coursework and collaborated with peers using the platform.
What I like best:
Streamlined Course Management: Centralizes course content, announcements, discussions, and grades, making it easy to organize and access materials. Communication Tools: Discussion boards, group messaging, and announcements provide effective ways to keep students informed and engaged. Intelligent Agents: help automate engagement messaging to give the appearance of being "always on" and let my students know if they're missing any details.

Navigation Complexity: Some menus and settings require too many clicks, especially when switching between instructor and student views. Grading features are occasionally less than intuitive. Mobile Experience: The app is functional but less robust than the desktop version, with some features hard to locate or access on the go.
Recommend that you take time to customize your course. Learn the dashboards, calendar notifications, release conditions and intelligent agents for your biggest class issues. Use clear labeling and the description feature to prepare students for what is / isn't in the next module. Make clear, unambiguous decisions about your gradebook before you start setting it up.

Brightspace combines announcements, resources, assessments, and communication in one place, helping students find what they need. Manages assignments, feedback, grades, and discussions efficiently even for fully remote learners. Quick visibility widgets help me see student progress at a glance, identifying and reaching out to those who need help.
