Personalized and great LAM services
What do you like best about the product?
D2L's LAM team works to enhance your Brightspace experience tirelessly, they never cut corners or do things just for the sake of doing them. Proactiveness at its best.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing comes to mind, really pleased with the service provided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Improving D2L'-native courses, using new functionalities at the platform (Reporting, Assessments, HTML templates)

What do you like best about the product?
Brightspace is an intuitive and highly organized Learning Management System. Its best features include design, layout, and ability to customize in most areas.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like more control of photo size and content layout within a tab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of delivering best-in-class education to mature adult learners in an online world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The support we have received from D2L has been exceptional. Every member of the team offers support in a timely manner and offers suggestions when needed.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are many options available. Find a product that your end users are comfortable using. Without end-user buy-in, no product would be useful to your organization.
Lots of confussion and inconsistencies with the system

There is nothing that really sticks out
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of inconsistencies with in the system and how you get information on the admin side. Data Hub contains information that is not usable without working with D2L.

Just trying to get our system up and running for students and faculty

What do you like best about the product?
D2L Brightspace not only has provided a terrific platform for our classes, but their attention to detail and assistance when questions arise have been fantastic. We are very happy with their service. Also , heir Lam service has been fantastic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes specific change request take too long to address which is understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allowing for a more sleek and modern look to our class LMS environment in a more intuitive fashion.
Fantastic LMS for residential and online learning
What do you like best about the product?
Brightspace is not only visually appealing, but it is also extremely intuitive and simple to learn. Our faculty jumped onto Brightspace much sooner than anticipated because of the pandemic, and they have been very satisfied with its functionality and ease of use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some new features, while more visually appealing, lack robust capabilities. Some tools or updates launch while still needing some development to be used effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace has given our faculty a renewed vision for how to use an LMS to support residential teaching. Gone are the days of using the LMS like a glorified dropbox; they take advantage of a variety of tools to help students engage with the material and with each other more meaningfully.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Brightspace might not have as many bells and whistles as some other learning management systems, but it is much more visually appealing and easier to use for instructors and learners. I am so glad that our institution switched to Brightspace, and, after working as an administrator and/or instructor in a few other systems, it is by far my favorite.
Satisfaction is high with D2L platform
What do you like best about the product?
D2L offers an easy-to-use interface for both instructors and students that is preferable compared to Blackboard. Support from D2L to perform administrative tasks has been exceptional.
What do you dislike about the product?
The built-in reporting tools could be expanded since it is too costly to purchase other customized reporting services. I like the PIE process for updates; however, timeline to implement could be shorter.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are introducing a new Online College at our institution with eight programs that are fully online. We used the HTML templates and expanded widgets in our course design to help promote student engagement.
D2L Brightspace in health care
What do you like best about the product?
The integrated authoring tool and the amount of interactivity within course pages. I dislike LMS' that use slideshow type courses with small bite sized info. I prefer the scrolling process.
What do you dislike about the product?
As someone with a non-IT background (healthcare), I find the front facing and back facing HTML complex. Even with templates, I find that the HTML coding breaks and I'm unable to fix the errors when using interactive pieces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staffing levels at our hospital are wildly understaffed and we are able to access training online, which has been so helpful. The benefit of creating microlearning courses are more accessible to folks with less time to sit and complete learning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for health care and able to organize courses and mandatory training easily.
Decent but not the most intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
There are alot of options for how you want content displayed and I have been able to find the answers to most things on my own.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a couple of features that are buried under multiple menus
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use D2L Brightspace to deliver online course content for virtual and live classes. The site is a great option for any content we want people to have access to from anywhere.
Overall, a pretty good LMS
What do you like best about the product?
D2L's Brightspace is, for the most part, very user-friendly and contains many of the tools most institutions would use to deliver online courses.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike the most about Brightspace is the permissions and how unconnected tools are connected via the permissions. I also wish there was a way to provide modified access at the course level for a specific user or only within a specific course. The all-or-nothing role set-up is far less flexible than I would like to see.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Brightspace allowed us to pivot our on-campus offerings to be fully online when the pandemic first hit, the ease of use made training faculty less stressful and the integrated tools allowed us to move almost all of our courses online within a short amount of time.
